It is just like going to Mexico. The atmosphere is wonderful with it's water fountains and flowers and birds. The outside seating is the best, and the people are the friendliest you will ever meet. We have been there four times in the past three years and we live in Illinois. My son is in the marines stationed at Camp Pendelton and every time we go to see him that is the must go nights for us. Not only is the restaurant superb but just the feel and the ambiance of old San Diego is breathtaking. If you are ever in San Diego, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a little bit of old mexico at this restaurant, you will not regret a minute of it. Pros: ambiance, friendly faces, romantic Cons: parking more

TO DIE FOR 4/25/2005

My husband and I were in San Diego for our honeymoon last summer and my Dad said we had to go here. He said it was the best mexican he'd ever had anywhere. He was so right. It was to die for. It was so good we had to go a 2nd time before leaving town. If it were up to my husband we would've eaten there every night LOL. We still talk about it and hope to go back someday soon. If we hear of anyone going to be in the area we tell them they MUST go. The only draw back was the wait for a table. On a weeknight at around 7p we waited for over an hour, but it was soooo worth it more

best in town 6/4/2004

Casa de Bandini is by far the best mexican food in San Diego. In addition, it offers the best atmosphere AND margaritas. Catch it on a weekend and you'll encounter the best Mariachi band too. You can dine inside or out but outside is muey muey bueno. Pros: great food, great outside dining, great margaritas Cons: , A little crowded, tough parking more
