Tonight was our second time dining at Basilic. The first time left a good impression so we thought we would go back and see if it still measures up. Started with a special appetizer- rocket shrimp- very simple but delicious. We also love their shrimp chips and sauces that are served immediately upon seating. AS for our main course, had to go again with the grilled chicken pho- it is delicious. The shaking beef was also very good- though the fried rice that accompanied the beef was just so-so. Overall this place serves really good food and is worth checking out. It was busy both times we have been there. The only drawback to this place is the noise level-it is a rather small space so it can get quite loud when busy. more

I have actually been wanting to try this place for a while now...Me and my girlfriend went and got a table quickly. First...the beer i ordered was skunk. the service was kinda confusing and people seemed to be all over the place (no system). 2 guys working the floor and one lady walking around very lackadaisical serving shrimp chips. I ordered some spicy noodle wok thing. The food came out REAL fast. like 5 minutes. The dish aside from the beef did not have much flavor. I had to add a bunch of hot sauce to it. Didnt really enjoy it but i was hungry. After dinner it took too long to just get my check and leave. I most likely will not return. more

Hands down my favorite restaurant in the tri county area. The spicy pho is amazing, as is the roasted duck pho and the calamari. Can't wait to come back and try more off the menu! more

Great ethnic diversity in this small beachside village. The food is fresh and very good! Service was also helpful and friendly! more

When you walk in, the place just smells delicious! We were impressed with the way the friendly staff really pitched in and worked as a team rather than leaving guests waiting for their assigned server. And then there is the food! Yum! We had spring rolls, grilled chicken pho, shaking beef, and Vietnamese coffee. All superb. We really like the homemade lemongrass sauce, too. Unfortunately, they don't bottle it. Home run! more

First time there and I had the "shaking beef" which was perfect. Filet meat was fresh, tender and cooked perfectly with the onions and peppers. Definitely coming back for that again. Fiancé had the pho and I tasted it, a little heavy on the cilantro. more

After reading the bad reviews, I gave it a shot anyways. Service was great! Fried calamari and shrimp appetizer was lightly battered and yummy. The house made chips on the table had a great crunch and flavor and the pho was very good. No lack of meat and I added veggies, it was delicious. I will return! more

Completely overrated. Terrible service, ok pho. If you know what real pho taste like, this will not satisfy. more

3.5/5 Stars\r \r I had the lemongrass chicken from Basilic Vietnamese. The flavors were simple and over powering. The wait staff seemed like they had better things to do, and were uninterested in serving me. Nonetheless they refilled my water throughout the meal. I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here, but if in the area I might give it another go. more

I'm not sure why the rating is so low for this restaurant, because I think it is wonderful. Food is very flavorful, and the service was excellent. I love the lemongrass chicken, which is my usual test for a Vietnamese restaurant. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. more

I went to the Grill on a Monday night. It was not packed but many of the tables had patrons. I placed my drink and food order. While I received my drink order I had to remind the server about my request for limes. Ten minutes later I had to remind the server again about my request for limes with my drink. Twenty minutes after placing the food order, it had not arrived. The server said 'The food is coming'. Finally after sitting for about a total of 25-30 minutes after ordering I left. more

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food, order the pho, 8 bucks for a tasty soup, and the fun of throwing beansprouts, mint, lime, and chilis into it.\r \r I basically joined urban spoon to defend THIS place as a great place to eat. more

I was a bit skeptical of basilic because of the low rating but, after my third trip, have decided that you can't dislike basilic if you like vietnamese food. The ingredients are fresh and delicious, everything was exactly as I expected, and you'll see me there many more times to come! more

I have eaten at this small restaurant 4-5 times this year. it is really very good although the decor is simple and if crowded the service can be slow. more
