Barona Casino Buffet 4/19/2011

It is the best buffet out of all the casinos here in the area and I have been to all of them. Their seafood is all fresh; crab legs, shrimp and awesome fish tacos. Desserts don't tell me about it - cheesecake. more

A relaxing get away 1/15/2006

Featuring a rustic, ranch exterior (replete with a creek, water wheel feature, a and a grain silo), the casino's interior is a lively contrast to the relaxing hotel: ringing slot machines, bustling tables and lots of action. Unlike the segmented floors at Viejas and Sycuan, Barona's 310,000 square-foot casino floor is wide open and more Vegas-like. Now, I'm the first to admit I'm not much of a gambler, but I had much fun trying my hand at the wide range of slots. I also found an electronic roulette (my favorite) machine to bide my time (like the other Indian casinos, due to state law, Barona offers a table variation of Vegas roulette. Of course, whether you're at an Indian casino or in Las Vegas, a staple of any venue is the buffet. Never a big buffet person - the food always seems a bit hit-and-miss - I have to say Barona's Ranch House Buffet is one of the best buffets I've experienced. more

Fun Spot 12/29/2005

Barona can definitely save you a trip to Las Vegas if you're looking for a good casino that's close. Just a short drive east on Interstate 8, and you're in a fun spot with plenty of slots and table games. Friendly dealers and servers can be found throughout. There are also several good restaurants to eat at when you get hungry. Haven't stayed in the hotel, but I've heard it's great as well. more

Barona is the place to gamble 11/21/2005

Barona, after their remodeling a few years ago, is a great place to gamble. Although this casino is more geared toward those who are willing to put down a lot of money, those who are not can still have a good time. With a plethora of loose slots and card tables, you are bound to have a great time here. The service is great and the atmosphere is great for gambling. more

Good selection of games 9/8/2005

They have a good selection of games, the only problem is that on busy nights, there are long waits for the lower priced tables, and they also remove some of the lowest priced tables on those nights as well. Top it off; it’s a far drive for most people in San Diego County. But if you go on a slow night with a group of friends, it can be a fun way to blow a hundred bucks. more

Great gambling spot 8/19/2005

This place is great gamblers den, with all the fun & excitement of a Las Vegas style casino. I like this place as it is always having some tables & slot machines for you to occupy. The place is well lit with good background ambiance & lots of good vibes. This is the place for a weekend entertainment. more

Fun outing 8/17/2005

My first trip to the Barona Casino was when I was 19 years old and a very exciting experience considering gambling is usually limited to those 21+. Now that I am 21 I still consider Barona Casino to be a quality casino. There are a bunch of slot machines and card tables. During the weekends it can get busy, but I have not had too much trouble finding a machine. The live music is also pretty fun. If you are looking for something different to do, try the Barona Casino! more

Barona Casino They Have it All 8/12/2005

Barona casino is located just 25-30 minutes outside San Diego, just past Lake Side on the Barona Indian Reservation. For those of you haven’t been there in a while I suggest you check it out. When I first started going there it was one big top circus tent with few table and just enough slot machines. Things have changed! They now have 18 hole golf course, wedding facilities, huge parking structure, lodging, wonderful landscaping and plenty of gaming. I would have to say the gamming space has tripled since I started going here in the late 90's. While the drive is less than desirable, with blind turns, curves up and down hills and buses slowing things up it is worth the trip every once an a while. Alcohol is not served at this casino and I believe this is solely attributed to the driving conditions. The buffet is classic casino style buffet, often times you can find 2 for 1 coupons or change in your frequent player rewards to make it a nice deal. more

Kenny Rogers loves it 8/11/2005

Barona billboards are everywhere in San Diego, and with good reason -- it's a great casino. The recent renovation and facelift have improved this San Diego relic. They now have a huge non smoking area, penny slots and an expanded buffet. It is about a 25 minute drive from downtown San Diego. They also have a card room with Texas Hold 'em poker. The casino is clean and has a lot of machines. On the weekends you might find people playing more than one machine or all the machines are full. more
