This is the place to go if your family wants to go out to Barney's. There's something on the menu for everyone and the prices are very fair! Great place to stop by for dinner if you want to walk around Old Town or watch a movie at the Theaters. more

I came here repeatedly in order to drink every beer they offer and get on their beer bragger's board. they do have a great selection of import beers, but be awared very few are on tap, so you'll be paying $5 for a bottle of beer. The service is spotty, so I recommend sitting at the bar: all the bartenders are great. The happy hour food specials are pretty good, but the food is kinda pricey for what you get if it's not a happy hour special. The place is always clean, and games are always on the TV. I was in the mood for a burger. A nice, juicy burger. And when a place writes about their ""Famous Burger"" in the menu you expect it to be a cut above or at least good. Not so here! This was the thinnest, worst burger I've had in along time. Asking for it medium rare is a waste of breath as it's so small and thin that it's either cooked or not. The bun was way bigger than the miniscule burger. I just don't understand why a place goes out of their way to promote somwehting that is just below average. Don't they try the food at other places? In general the food is OK to poor.In trendy Pasadena you're probably paying more towards their rent than food. They could raise their prices a buck or two and offer better food. They have a good bar and if you're going for that fine. But if you want a good meal this is not the place. After paying $15. for the burger, an iced tea and a tip I wished i had gone to In and Out and paid less and been more satisfied. more

And when I mean long time. I mean LONG TIME! I've been going there since the EARLY 80's - when it was just Barney's, Ernies, and bums on Colorado Blvd. (Anyone remember One West?). Now it's the first choice of my two daughters (I guess they get their good taste from their dad). I always get the Colorado Salad. Great Value and excellent quality food (remember it's bar food - not Spago's). Probably the best value on trendy Colorado Blvd., but boy do I miss the old days... when you grew up? This is a long-standing local hangout that made it through good times and bad. Even so, the quality--which is very good--has not wavered. You can rely on your old faithfuls to be the same every time. Pasadenans go there after shopping, after work, for a chatty lunch, for a late night meal. You can always have a good conversation over your meal, and your husband can still watch the game. Fish and chips? The best. Sandwiches. Full-sized. This is home when you can't go home, but Barney's is always there. If you don't like the food, tell them so. I've never had a bad meal, but I'd bet they'd fix it. This is where real Pasadena eats. Barneys has good (not great) food at reasonable prices. Their beer selection is great and seems to change regularly. You can attempt to get on the Braggers Board if you actually manage to drink at least one of each their available beers over the course of a year. Only for the dedicated . . . more
