Prompt and friendly service. The Lad Na was delicious. Would not order the crispy squid again (was overboard on the batter and that made it doughy and heavy). Vegetables were fresh and delicious, portions were big enough to share. I'm looking forward to trying more from this place! more

Great Thai Restaurant 4/16/2011

Just ordered from this Thai Restaurant and I must say that Bangkok on Greenville is better than the Bangkok on 75 and Walnut Hill as their packed with more flavor. I ordered the Tom Yum Soup which was so delicious where as the Bangkok on 75 had no taste whatsoever. Bangkok on Greenville also has more selections such as the Green Tea Ice Cream I love. I think I will be ordering here from now on. I can't wait to try the other selections such as the volcano shrimp. more

Some great food! 8/26/2010

The appetizers I order were delicious, and even though I'm not a fan of vegetables, the pad see ew was really great also! I suggest going here for lunch and dinner! more

Greenville yum 8/26/2010

The scenery here is pretty great, not shabby at all. Looks like they've done something new with the restaurant. We started off with with fried shrimp, imperial rolls and chicken satay, they were all just right, especially the peanut sauce!! I love it! Their orange chicken (Sure, its Chinese but they can pull it off!) was great, i had to steal some off my boyfriend's plate! The cashew nut chicken was yum too! It wasn't as sweet as the last Thai place i went to so it was great! My boyfriend's parents had different versions of fried rice and they dug into that dish like they never ate before! I tried a bit of their plates and one was real spicy, i can't handle the spice but the vegetarian fried rice was great! more

Fabulous Authentic Thai Food 5/2/2010

As a conservative estimate, I have eaten at 25 Thai restaurants over my life. It is by far my favorite ethnic food and I seek out new restaurants whenever I travel. I believe I have found the best, most authentic and flavorful Thai food available at Bangkok City @ Greenville. The Satay chicken, thai spring rolls, imperial rolls and thai dumplings were delicious. The Pad Gra Prow, Thai style, which is made up of ground chicken, peppers, bamboo shoots, basil, carrots and seasonings, stir fried together with a fried egg on top was exceptional. The pad thai, crab fried rice, volcano shrimp and other dishes I cannot remember were also all great. The wait staff, hostess (hi Mimi) and owner (hi Joe) are all friendly and personable and happy to make suggestions based on what you like. If you don't see what you want, ask and they will make it for you. Since I was only in Dallas for a week, I only got to eat at this great restaurant twice but I cannot wait to go back and try something new. Go to Bangkok City @ Greenville, ask for some authentic thai food, and bask in the warmth of the tasty, friendly experience. Pros: Fantastic authentic food at a reasonable price Cons: Wasn't in Dallas long enough to try everything more

Dont miss it... 4/20/2010

The food was awesome and affordable. The papaya salad, tom yum soup, and pad grow prow (ask for Thai Style w/ fried egg) were tasty and very authentic. more

Great family environment 4/18/2010

Been taking my family to Bangkok City for years and it's never disappointed. Favs include the volcano shrimp and pad gra paow. Fresh mango with sticky rice is a great dessert. Atmosphere is cozy and casual. Pros: excellent service, authentic thai food Cons: limited parking more

skip this place ! 12/27/2009

Ok, so how do you mess up rice if you are an asian restaurant? I mean I've eaten TONS of jasmine rice and it has never been what I would call 'wrong' . This jasmine rice was a disaster! I t was like a college kid made it - the wrong way! Icky, sticky rice. Had to throw most of it away. Sorry, but that is not a good sign for an asian restaurant , thai or otherwise. The curry was actually ok. I mean every other thai place I've been in Dallas is better....but it was ok. Pros: curry dish was 'ok' Cons: horrible jasmine rice more

I love this place because its open on holidays, last Monday which is memorial days i decided to take my family out here for dinner and found that the decor is very warm and inviting ( don't be fooled by the outside appearance ). We ordered the tom yum soup , papaya salad, red curry was Amazingly good...:) we love it and we certainly be back. Pros: Tasty food ( best curry) , cheap food. Good service. Cons: None that i know. more

Where's the beef? IN MY SOUP!! 2/13/2009

Ok, let me start by saying that I have been driving past this restaurant for YEARS, and have never stopped in. This was definitely a sad oversight on my part. I stopped in today for a bite on ym way home, and was pleasantly surprised. From the outside, you would not think that you could get more than a few people inside, let alone a full kitchen, but when you walk in the restaurant opens into a very spacious and attractive open floorplan. Now, any time I go to a Thai restaurant, I must have an order of corn patties. Being allergic to peanuts, I cannot have the traditional sauce, but I love the corn patties themselves with the sweet chili sauce. I must say that I was a bit disappointed with the corn patties at Bangkok City. The flavor was very nice, but they were a touch harder than expected and had too much breading for my taste. I also ordered the beef and noodle soup. This soup was phenomenal! I have recently started eating beef again after many years as a vegetarian, and am therefore very picky about the beef I eat. This soup had incredibly tender and tasty beef, and the broth was scrumptious. I am normally not a huge fan of cilantro, but found the perfect amount in this soup to set off all of the other ingredients and truly bring them all to life. I think I will make this restaurant a regular stop for the soup alone. I cannot wait to go back to Bangkok City and start working my way through the rest of their wonderful menu. Definitely a restaurant I would recommend to anyone! Pros: Great soup, very attentive and polite staff more
