Amazing food, good prices! What else do you need?

Did not like this place at all. The food was not that great. Wasted my money. I ended up throwing the whole think away.

Great Buy, best Thai around 8/31/2009

Great food, fast service, better than drive thru as far as speed is concerned. Pad Thai or chicken cashew are an excellent choice. Soups are great, and most of the appetizers. Never had a bad meal here. Have been to other thai places and most don't even come close. Pros: Great food, good prices Cons: no drive thru more

Awsome Thai 12/22/2008

This place has the best food, probably my favorite of all. My faves are the Pad Thai which is perfection on a plate and I recently discovered the Pad Seewew(SP?) that was excellent too. I haven't had anything there that I didn't like except the fresh rolls that really surprised me. I've been going for years and take everyone I know, they always agree. try it once and you'll be hooked. more

AWESOME Thai Food!!! 9/12/2008

I have been a customer of Bangkok Cafe since it first opened its doors. I used to go across the street to Ferndale's original Thai place (Bangkok Express). The owner, Sam, was a great guy and man! - could he cook some hot Thai food! Sadly, Sam passed away, but his son Alex carried on the tradition and opened Bangkok Cafe and he can still be found working in the kitchen there almost every night. I craved this place madly while I spent a decade in Phoenix, and every time I returned to Detroit for a visit, I would drive there straight from the airport. Yeah, yeah - so the ambience ain't that great - big deal! Call, get it, and go! It never takes longer than 5 minutes to get your carry-out , even when the place is packed (which it often is). The portions are excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The Satay appetizer is very good, and you can't go wrong with any of the soups. Pad Thai and Pad See'wew are done to perfection, as are the Drunken Noodles. I have NEVER had a dish from this place that I didn't like.....the Kiss Me Beef, Chicken Curry, Panang, Gan Gao Wren....it's all great! Even if you don't like your Thai food spicy, you'll enjoy the flavoring of the food. \r Keep up the great work, Alex!! I'm a Bangkok Cafe customer for life! (just thinking about makes my mouth water....think I'll stop on the way home tonight) Pros: food, portions, value Cons: ambience more

Best thai place around 6/3/2008

This is, hands down, the best thai food I have had. I just moved to Clawson (from Ferndale) and have tried 4 different thai places for Pad Thai and no one even comes close to Bangkok. Cheap food, large servings, and excellent flavor. Pros: cheap, good food Cons: parking more

Best Thai Food Ever! 2/21/2007

I've been going to Bangkok Cafe for years. I have tried several other places in the area as well as out of state and have never had anything quite as good (although a few have come close). The food is hot and fresh. You never have to wait long to eat. The atmosphere is not superb but if you want great food, this is the place. It is a very fair price. I sometimes will just get carry out to take back home! :)\r \r My favorite is the ""Princess Stir Fry"" with Beef. The veggies are fresh. Try it hot! Pros: Food, freshness, price Cons: atmosphere more

Best Value in Thai 6/5/2005

Excellent food at a fair price. The ambience doesn't dazzle me but the food keeps me going back. I have never had any problems with the service. I have always been seated promptly. Waitresses I've had have been friendly. Pros: inexpensive, great quality, quantity good Cons: Atmosphere more

like it but dont love it 2/24/2005

i do like this place -- you get a lot of good food for your dollar, but the food is definitely on the greasy side. i dont mind the rude waitstaff, but if you dont want your food to be slammed on your table this place isnt for you. fortunately for bangkok cafe they dont have much competiton in the area. people like this place because it really is the only place to go in the area. Pros: cheap, fast Cons: very greasy, rude staff, place feels greasy more

The Best Yet!! 8/15/2004

I hate this place, because the food is sooooo good, that I can't go to any other restaurant. But seriously I love this place, the prices, the people, the service, the area, I don't think theres anything better. I wish my wife could cook this good! gotta go, I think I here her comming...... Pros: Great Food, Great Prices, Great Service more

It's the best! 9/15/2002

Bangkok Cafe is THE BEST Thai food in Metro Detroit. I moved from close by to the East Side and now have to drive 30 minutes for my Bangkok fix! How about opening a restaurant in Grosse Pointe Park? Pros: Cheap, Abundant, Fresh Cons: Too far away! more

Yummy!!! 8/13/2002

I love this place. You get so much food that you can save half and have lunch the next day or dinner that night. more
