Best

Their pizza is always great, and they usually beat the delivery estimates which is always a nice surprise. A go-to for pizza delivery in my house.

Worst

Very rude waitress. Good bread, great pastries. Service was very disappointing. Dining anywhere else in Cole Valley would be better. Pros: good bread Cons: poor service

Excellent! 5/21/2006

This is the first time I gave a restaurant perfect scores. I couldn't have made a better choice for dinner with my family. I wanted an authentic Italian restaurant in the city with good food, ambience & value. I got all that plus exceptional service. Everyone here was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. This is a rare jewel in the city! Solid Italian food sure to please your wallet and palate. The calamari and bruschetta were appetizing. We all loved our pastas and my sister and dad enjoyed their chicken parmigiana and pancetta wrapped filet mignon. The tiramisu was heavenly. I am sure to come back! Pros: Menu, Atmosphere, Service more

Amazing Italian Restaurant in Cole Valley 2/9/2006

The food is truly amazing at this restaurant. Moving from New York City, my husband and I weren't sure what we would find in our new neighborhood, but we were extremely pleasently with Bambinos. We each tried one of the specials and we were blown away- great restaurant, friendly service, definitely will be going back more

A Cole Valley Jem 1/4/2006

Bambino's has always been a good dependable Italian/Pizza restaurant. Over the past several months I've noticed a nice improvement in both food and service. Specials have been a little more innovative and the staff a bit more attentive. I dined at Bambino's the other day and had the pancetta wrapped filet and it was wonderful, just melted in my mouth. My wife had the chicken parmesan and it was very good, as usual. We finished the meal with some of their new desserts, chocolate truffle torte and a cranberry & pear bread pudding, both were exceptional. Bambino's gets 3.5 stars out of 4 in my ratings. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Parking more

Lousy food at gourmet prices. 12/11/2005

I can honestly say that this place does not make Italian food; more likely some americanized version of someone's distant and inaccurate reminiscence of what they thought was italian food. That would be fine, if they didn't label themselves as an Italian restaurant and actually served edible food. For starters, the bread came in what looked like some random combination of off the shelf sliced bread from a 7-eleven type convenience store and half of it tasted stale. The olive oil that came with it was equally bland. Then came the $18 pasta. The prosciutto was hard and the sauce tasted like milk. There are many other places in the city where you can get good and honest Italian food for the _same_ price! Cons: Food, Service more

GREAT FOOD & WONDERFUL SERVICE 9/29/2005

Bambino's is an excellent place to eat the BEST Italian food. There are many choices on the menu, (pizza, pasta, steak, chicken, seafood, gourmet salads, a variety of delicious specials and the list continues) there is something for everyone! This is my familys favorite restaurant. Great food and wonderful service you can't leave without trying their spectacular tiramisu!! Pros: Spectacular Specials, Large Portions, Fast,Friendly Service more

I'll definately be back! 10/13/2003

I ordered one of the ""Signature Gourmet Pizzas"" - the Portabella with tomatoes, portabella mushrooms and blue cheese on a thin crust - and I never expected pizza to taste this good! My friend chose the Creamy Cajun Shrimp Linguine and loved it. Three kinds of house-made bread with fantastic marinated olives and olive oil accompanied our salads. I felt very comfortable, the service was good and the food was fantastic. I'll definately be back! Pros: Great Food, Good Service more

Casual and delicious 10/12/2003

Whatever you're looking for - from a snack to a three course meal - Bambino's offers fresh, tasty and wholesome food to satisfy. I've had three different entree size salads, pizza, roasted chicken, soups and two or three different pasta dishes and never been dissapointed. All ages, strangers and neighborhood regulars feel welcome by the friendly staff and each time I've been there, I've felt like I'm at a party. Don't leave without trying the Tiramisu or the Creme Brulee. Pros: Hospitable servers, Large variety more

Fresh, flavorful and filling. 6/21/2003

Everything is always very fresh. Try the salads -especially the Pear, Pecan, Cambozola and Mixed Greens with Orange Dijon Vinaigrette. Their pizza is great and they serve fantastic pastas, fish and meats. Pros: Good value more

This place ROCKS!! 6/7/2003

Dude! Awsome! The food at Bambino's is SWEEEET! And the portions are huge! Doggie scarfed, too! Pros: Huge portions, Veggie friendly more

Great for any meal ... 5/24/2003

I've had a few meals at Bambino's and I'm impressed. I first went for Brunch and had tasty Eggs Florentine. I returned another night with a friend and sampled a wonderful salad of butter lettuce, green apples and blue cheese with pomagranate dressing. We also had delicious Chicken Picata and Pizza. Our server suggested a good organic wine from a small Italian vinyard, which we enjoyed. And don't even think about not trying their Tiramisu! I've been back a few times. The servers are attentive and the room is comfortable. (I particularly love the large flower arrangement on the bar.) Casual, unpretentious and delicious. Pros: Good food, Attentive service, Great value more

We love this place! 5/10/2003

My wife and I moved to Cole Valley 6 months ago and discovered the great food and warm welcome at Bambino's. They have a wonderful menu, always well executed - and the staff have made us feel so comfortable. We've also ordered food delivered (they deliver their entire menu) and have not been dissapointed. We've eaten at many other restaurants in San Francisco, but Bambino's is the place we go to be treated ""like family."" Pros: Varied menu, Very fresh, Attentive servers Cons: Parking took awhile more

Disappointed 8/4/2002

Was a loyal customer of Noe Valley Pizza. Tried this place when I heard of the history behind NVP's it's change of ownership. Sorry I tried it. Ordered for delivery - pizza was bland and arrived soggy. Tiramisu was stale and frozen solid in the center. Will not go back. more

The Brie App is a must! 6/9/2002

Cute and quaint. Bambino's has all my favorite salads, and the best brie/roasted garlic appetizer that is to die for! more

Gambled and Lost! 5/23/2002

When you are out looking for a new place to eat you can't expect everyone to be great. At Bambino's don'et even expect it to be OK. While the service was friendly it was slow especially with the final check. My biggest complaint is with the food. If you are paying $15 for chicken picatta it should atleast be chicken picatta. What I was served did not resemble any chicken picatta I ever been served. I thought the server had brought me the wrong dish. The sause was over cooked and ruined the entire dish..what ever it was. Also the sauce on my dish was very similar to the mushroom sauce on my dates dish. I'm all for chefs taking liberties with traditional recipes but don't call a dish something it isn't. Pros: ? Cons: Food more
