amazing food! 11/27/2006

I walk by this place everyday on my way to/from work and noticed that it is ALWAYS busy...so I thought I'd check it out. While sitting waiting to order, I noticed one thing...everyone seems to know each other here...including the wait staff. That is always a good sign. \r Since I've never had Salvadorian food before, it is hard for me to compare this to other Salvadorian food, but what I ate was simply amazing! I ordered a ground beef, onion and mint concoction and a chili relleno. Both were excellent and perfectly cooked. My buddy ordered a steak and sausage (similar to chorizo) and they were also perfectly cooked and very delicious.\r I highly recommend this place...I'll be going back for sure! Pros: Scrumptious food! Cons: Not fast..but worth the wait more

Salvadorean food 11/20/2006

This is a popular place in the heart of the Mission District, a corner location. Here's what I ate: Pupusas, the famous salvadorean finger food. Mine were frijoles with cheese, You can also get cheese only, or revuelta which means it has some cheese and meat in it. Pupusas are like a very solid tortilla, about 4 inches in diameter and with a filling on the inside. My son had the Camarones special and we drank Horchata. The horchata here contains cacao. Not very rich and a bit watered down, so not a really good value as far as horchatas go in the Mission District. But over all It's recommended Pros: Good sampling of Salvadorean food Cons: Horchata was not very thick, a bit watery more
