RUN RUN RUN FAR AWAAAAY 1/25/2011

Total waste of money. The gym stinks because they have no air conditioning even in the summer. The weight training equipment is all cramped together. Imagine working out next to a sweaty guy in the July. I nearly passed out. Unfortunately I am locked in a 3 year contract but I do not go. !! If all you need is a place to swim then this is it but everything else is useless more

Rude, Unprofessional, non existent customer service 4/12/2010

Well I'll never understand the need to have a full blow phone conversation on a treadmill, watch people in flipflops on equipment, people who sweat and walk off machines oh yea plus the help that walks right on by, a waste of money for an almost good concept, when the help isn't texting in offices and locker rooms, weights all over the floor it amazes me that you never see anyone in a red shirt go past the counter on to the floor, you dare ask a question and they look at you like you have three heads, this is where those who have no real skill go not to mention you should see some of the stuff that goes on in the pool which really grossed me out. I'm done this year, I'd rather join the Y at least they have skill, educated help and clean locker rooms Pros: They have electricty Cons: Cellphones, and unattentive help more

You get what you pay for 12/13/2009

I've been a member for over ten years. Initially, they were always hustling for members and re-signs but after some complaints to the state they seemed to have stopped those practices, some of which were purposely confusing. I have a disability and primarily use the pool, which is large and usually has lap lanes open. What's apparent to me is that managers simply do not keep an eye on things. One day recently there was an enormous amount of crud of some kind in the pool, the locker room (I'm a male) is no longer cleaned as regularly as it once was, toilets work indifferently, and air conditioning and heat are something of a crap shoot. Basically, its a spartan kind of place that primarily serves working class Worcester. Most of the time staff are friendly and things more or less work. No real frills, but for me it has made a big difference in my health, and that's what matters. Pros: Its there when you need it Cons: Could be far better managed more

I wouldn't suggest it! 8/25/2009

Having been a member of Bally's for 4 years....this last year has been oppressive to say the least...The AIR CONDITIONING has been not working for 2 months and they keep saying ""oh we are working on that"" The machines are filthy...they never have paper towels or disinfectant to clean the machines available....no wonder they are failing...upper management obviously is not focussed on controlling what they can control...which is simple comfort of their members....I am dogging Bally's to everyone I know....because of my experience with them lately....I've called upper management...they are indifferent...Bally's should CLEAN HOUSE...of the loafing mgnt. staff that has no regard for a the BALLY's brand...our membership is up in NOVEMBER...and we are moving to the YMCA...while signifiicanly more expensive...we are willing to pay it, for a clean, air conditioned environment where all cardio machine's always work...and to close the loop...we would have gladly paid the same amount we will pay to YMCA..to Bally's...they just so happened to adopt a "" our services are not that valuable"" corporate strategy and we said what the heck...we'll sign up for a year for $190.00 ...everyone knows that you get what you pay for...Bally's demise is a result of growth fueled by greed...the CEO is probably FAT!! Pros: Swimming Pool Cons: No Air conditioning, filthy more

Disgusting Place to get healthy 8/10/2009

There is so much wrong with this place it will not even fit in this review. Best advice I can give you is go somewhere else. Bally's only care about how much money and how long a contract they can sign you up for. But try to get some customer service out of them and forget it. They could care less. The air conditioning has been broken for over a month and all they will say is were working on it. And by the way this happens every summer. Bally's corp has been in bankruptcy 3 times in the past 2 years. Type bally's bankruptcy in google and read all about it. The equipment is old and always breaking. They have a whole row of thread mills that are out of order. In the winter I have been on the tread mill and it's like it's snowing dirt out of the heating vents right on top of you. I was dumb enough to fall for there sales pitch and sign a three contract so for now I'm stuck there. But belive me when my membership is up I won't be going back to this hell hole. Pros: Location Cons: Worst Customer Service Hot & Filthy more
