Babe's Hamburgers

we bought gift certificates to babes on a deals website. I use these types of certificates all the time. It's usually a good way to try new places. We went to Babes today with a $12 gift certificate. Walked in & seen a sign saying no combo / daily special with gift certificate, this was no where on the certificate & I have NEVER seen this done before. We ordered the daily combo. Burgers fries & 2 drinks. We paid over $6 more than the daily combo would have been. Not a good way to meet new customers. Food was ok but experience was overall terrible. If you want a good burger go to SAMs burger joint or gourmet burger grill more

What worse than finding out you were charged for extra burgers? Getting home and finding out those burgers are missing. Food was pretty good but the customer service was about a low as you could go. When I questioned the cost of my togo the cashier informed me we were charged for items not in our order. She told me the food was already made and would have to pay for it if we didn't. Feeling sorry for cashier I payed for the extra food only to find it was not included in the order. Additionally our basic order was missing several components or included condiments we specifically tried to avoid. My three year old son likes the restaurant so we will probably go back a couple of more times but we will always check our order onsite. more

Babe's is one of the greatest burger places I've been to. They have everything you could possibly think of when you think of good American food. The sweet tea is truly southern and the sodas and beers are the only things you have to wait to get refilled. It is a warm and welcoming atmosphere for a family or an entire baseball team. I use to work there and I still go back for food and friends. I personally like the one in Helotes better. The staff is much friendlier and it's not so crowded. They even have vintage baseball cards in the counters and tables. more

Simply good food at a good price and great service....and it is consistently that way....no frills and you can take the family and not go broke. more

I just went to Babe's for the first time with my family. It was the most amazing food ever! My family and I had a great time. I had a mushroom burger and it was delicious while my husband had the chicken tenders which were huge!! It was a great place to have a drink and hang out. The workers were extremely friendly, (which is why I don't understand the unfriendly staff comments). They were very helpful with our order. Something to remember is that everything you order is very big. Now we have a great place to watch the Spurs games! more

Do not go to this restaurant! Low lives hang out at this place. Things are stolen when left on tables and the ownership does nothing to help the situation. If you eat here make sure you have everything in your pockets or have the cops phone number ready. Don't go to the restroom until your done with your meal and ready to leave! more

My family, friends and co-workers frequent Babe's pretty often and love the food but have learned to avoid the manager that calls himself ""Al"". My husband tried to reason with him (calm him down) on one visit, only to find that he had already tossed back a few before noon.. We have witnessed him belittle, degrade and humiliate his staff; the most unprofessional behavior. Frankly I am embarrased for the owner and humiliated right along with those girls he is so mean to. If you can avoid that man, you will love your experience. Pros: great food Cons: horrible manager more

Portions on the chicken strips and fries were large for the price. But, the burgers were on the small side and tasted good, but not great. I had the bacon cheese burger. Pros: Good value Cons: Small burgers more

The cheese burgers are so good, and well and the fried mushrooms! Everything is homemade and the shakes are delicious! more

This place is amazing! It truly has the best guacamole burger I have ever had. The fries are amazing, the shakes are incredibly creamy and everything is made fresh to order. You can also see the cooks make it all. The service was awesome and it wasn't pricey at all. Pros: Best Guacamole Burger EVER! more

This place brings back good memories. I hear alot of locals like to go hear and watch the Spurs play around basketball season. It's a fun place to hang out and have a burger. The best memory I have is a friend bringing over his leftovers and how GOOD they were even as I reheated them in my microwave. Hope this helps,...I like to stop by anytime I'm in town.
