I would stay here again. The rooms were spacious and the breakfast (not free) was yummy. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. Thanks for a nice night's stay! They have enough parking and even an Avis rental car place if you need that! There was a fan in the room that we turned on which I liked. more

Looking for an over night place for our last night in Florida, we found this very friendly and pleasant hotel via and with the help of their colleagues at another company hotel nearby. Good swimming pool and clean and cozy room with comfortable bed, made our last hotel night one to remember. Winter Park is the best place to get off the south bound trains in the Orlando area because of its amenities not the least of which is the Best Western Mt. Vernon. Room 154 was quiet, clean, used green cleaning policies (I don't change my sheets every day at home), had a refrigerator, and was close to everything! This is a reasonably priced comfortable motel whose 60 years of experience shows.\r \r more

The Best value for money and relaxation. Away from the hussel and bussel of the Orlando area. The eggs benedict for breakfast is the best. The lounge and entertainment, will sooth the most stressed human. I have been staying here when in business and found it to be a wonderful to unwind. more

We just got back from spending 5 nights at the Best Western and we loved it!! It is beautiful inside! It's an atrium filled with gorgeous trees, covered in white lights, and gardens. The hotel was built around a creek as well - so that creek runs right through the center of the hotel. The rooms could use a bit of an update - but the beds were very comfortable. We had a room that walked out to the pool which was great as it gave us space to sit just outside the room. My 5 year old son could walk to the bridge to look at the creek, or play with his cars in the gardens (oops!). We ate at the restaurant for lunch or dinner daily and were never disappointed. great menu, good variety. The only negative i have is that it is very damp. Because it is essentially a greenhouse there is a lot of humidity. My son had a terrible chest cold that just seemed to get worse while we stayed there. Also our bathing suits would never get dry hanging in our room because of the moisture. Would definitely stay there again though! more

The outside appearance is very dated. I almost want to bail out when I arrived. It happened to have some conference going on at time I booked. The rate was a bit pricey but it's seems to be all high around the area at this time. Central location. Lots of restaurants nearby. Once I walked in, the reception area was somewhat antique looking, small but quite warm and welcoming with the red wood decor. The front desk was very professional and helpful! (The only person that I was disappointed was the rude lady manager who I spoke with on the phone). \r Once you walked into the indoor garden podium where the restaurant is (the only way to go to the rooms). It feels like a jungle. The restaurant was surrounded with lots of plants, a pool right in the middle and a man made river with running water but I found it soothing. It is kind of different and cute. Be aware there are no elevators to the rooms. The young bell boy walked by insisted to help. He is very helpful and polite. He dropped off my luggage and say good night with a great big smile. He took off in a breeze without expecting a tip. The bartender and waitress provide very good service. \r The room was very spacious, dated decor but kept very clean. My room was facing the garden. Even it's a man made environment. It was still very enjoyable to look outside the balcony. Its a Friday night and a conference going on. I am not expecting to be quiet. Once I close the balcony door. It was surprisingly quiet. I had a great sleep. \r I will return to this hotel again! more

The celebration luncheon could not have run more efficiently or smoothly. Under Jenny's keen supervision, The service personnel considerately maintained the buffet lines and provided timely and polite service to all. Vernra and Nellie were exceptional. Lastly, Please express a heartfelt "" THANK YOU"" to all the cooks behind-the-scene kitchen assistants. The food was delicious and its presentation was lovely. The result of their hard work was enjoyed by all. How i wish they could have heard all the well deserved comments. Mr. Frazee, sincere compliments on your Mt. Vernon staff, Indeed you may be proud. more

I have stayed here many times over the past twenty five years. Initially the indoor pool was a novelty but now it has no appeal and I really do not like the humidity it creates. Its still the best place to stay in Vernon especially at a conference. more

I just stayed at this hotel and was totally happy. The room was clean, large, quiet and the bed was very comfy. We ate in the main area, food was excellent, maybe a tad pricey but very good. Pool and hot tub were also used and enjoyed. I will definetaly stay at this hotel again if needed. I ride a motorcycle and the hotel is biker friendly as there were quite a few more riders staying there. There was a band playin in the pub but was too spent from the ride to go in and check it out. more

I stayed two nights and the location couldn't be better with proximity to downtown Winter Park and friends in the area. It's pretty dated with old tube TV's and could use a freshening up. However, the bed was so comfortable and everything was clean and fresh. The staff was very accommodating. I did have trouble with internet connection using a cable to hard wired broadband. They do not have wifi! However, things were put in order. The best thing about the property was the staff. From front desk to the housekeeping personnel, they were very kind. Oh, I had a pretty decent breakfast in the dining room too. more

The hotel and our room was clean. It was close to places that I wanted to see as I lived in the area many years ago. The restaurant and bar was adequate. The employees at both were very friendly. My husband enjoyed the fitness room and the pool. On the other hand, the air conditioner was very loud when it went on so that we had to turn the TV up to hear it. Our room was not completely cleaned when we returned after an outing (bathroom not done), and on the day we were to check out at 11 am the maid knocked on our door at 10 to see when we were leaving. more

We enjoyed the convenience of getting off the train in Winter Park, getting a ride by the car rentals (right next door to the hotel) back and forth, the sights and sounds of Winter Park, and excellent restaurants in the area. The Mt. Vernon Best Western was clean, quiet, and adhered to green policies. Enjoyed the ability to have a fast breakfast in our room due to the refrigerator. All in all a perfect stay! The Mt Vernon is such an ""easy"" stay for the WP/Maitland area. It's close to shopping (walk to WP Village and Park Ave), Rollins College, restaurants. The pool area is well-maintained. There are several places to sit outside, visit with friends, and enjoy a cocktail. We've booked three rooms for our next visit. more
