Failed to complete work... charged me anyway
1. Window regulator failed in car. They fixed it under warranty, claimed they would replace the damaged weather stripping, but they did not have the part. One year later, the part still has not arrived.
2. I had the Oil service done. Car came back a 1/2 quart low on oil, so I suspect they may not have changed it. A few months later, the car burnt 2 quarts of oil in 1 month. I had it changed again. They claim these engines burn as much as 1 quart every 1500 miles. Six months and 10,000 miles later, the engine has not burned a drop. Go figure.
3. I brought the car in for the Check Engine light, engine running rough, and an Oil Service. They convinced me to have Inspection 2 done early (about $1,000). To have the car run smoothly, I was willing to pay $1,000. A couple days after the work, the light was back on, and the car was running rough & stalling. Upon investigation, I found that they failed to change one of the air filters. It did not appear they they did any of the work like changing spark plugs, etc. Of course they charged for all of these parts. I brought the car back and they claim it may have just been forgotten, or they may have a problem with a particular employee. I left the car again, and they did do some more of the work (still forgetting things like the to replace the wiper blades, which I was charged for). The car ran better, but the check engine light continued to come on. VOB BMW later found a bad sensor and replaced it. The car runs fine now. Since VOB tells me the sensor was throwing errors, I am not clear on why BMW of Sterling could not figure this out.
