I have no idea why AAA recommended them to me. Bottom line, after using up two AAA tows and spending an extra $40 to tow to Autotech, meanwhile alienating a closeby mechanic I trusted, I discovered that they completely lied to me about my car.
After waiting all day to return my call, First they said they needed a thousand dollars to just tell me what was wrong with my car. Then a different person insisted it didn't run and needed a new engine. It runs; it was towed because of power steering/safety issues. When I balked at their suspicious contradictory estimates, they told me they were a repair shop and not a storage facility.
Because they were so put out by the presence of my car they talked me into junking a BMW that sells for $10,000 in some places with the dmv for $1,500. When they were too put out to wait for the dmv to pick it up I discovered all of the above when it was towed back home. The tow truck driver, also a mechanic drove this car up my driveway no problem. We both looked under the hood and had no idea what they were talking about. He also thought it was bad business to threaten me with storage fees so soon. (The car was towed from my home; I had no need to "pull one over" storing my nice car with these ingrates.). I only wonder how much damage was done to my car sitting there Unserviced. If they had been honest my car could have affordably been fixed by now, but apparently only inflated fees and convenience matters not the customers/return business.
Not to mention my lividity at nearly junking a quality car my family spent years paying off. I don't know how they can keep any customers or business long term with such short term greed. Their desire to service cars In a certain "order" rather than accommodate customers makes me also wonder too if they are engaged in double/multiple billing. I will be doing an official diagnostic and contacting the BBB and possible regulatory entities. I have never felt so unappreciated as a customer!
