sweet, but short 10/18/2008

i took my boyfriend to ride them as a birthday surprise after a romantic dinner. Honestly i was disappointed. It was VERY short and VERY expensive for such a short ride. it would be fun for just a fun thing to do in vegas but not if your trying to have a big birthday surprise. Also i didn't find it that romantic that the lady was standing right on top of us Pros: something fun to do in vegas Cons: very short and not to romantic more

Very romantic if a bit short 11/21/2006

We were walking around before going to the theater and saw people lining up for the gondolas. I found the ticket counter and found out it was about $15/person. The four of us went on the inside tour as the outside one was closed. It was very romantic but I think my girlfriend and I had a better time than her sister and mother. Still, it was worth giving it a try and I'm glad we did it. I'd be interested to come back and try the outdoor one. I recommended this to a friend and she was proposed by her boyfriend to on this ride! And said yes! Pros: romantic, unique Cons: long wait more

A Gondola Ride without Leaving the Country 4/23/2006

What a great place to (pay someone to) Serenade Your Sweetie. If you are thinking of proposing remember that this will be a public proposal so be sure to stack the deck in your favor... Have had several discussions about marriage in which she indicated that she is obviously ready. Pros: Romantic, Memorable Cons: She might say no more

I got engaged there 3/1/2006

My husband proposed to me there and it was wonderful and made a great story. We went on our ride and then we he popped the question and I said yes. They sang a few more songs and then when we got back to the loading dock the gondiler yelled out.. I have an announcement..... Everyone she said Yes!!!! Then at that momment the photographer took our picture with our faces bright red. It was the best experience ever... I would highly recommend this to anyone. Pros: Great Singing, fun more

A Gondola Ride Through The Venetian 12/7/2005

There are two gondola rides at the Venetian - one out in front and one on the second floor. When you consider that the roller coaster ride at NYNY cost $12 pp, it is a good value in Las Vegas standards. There are female gondoliers so if that makes a difference, make sure you request a male when you are waiting in line for the ride. We had a great ride with Gianni who was funny and sang very well. I'm not sure if that was his real name (or accent) but it was still great. It doesn't say it anywhere obvious but the gondoliers do accept tips. A must-do in Vegas! more

Editorial
  • Overview
Gondolas float through the canals of the Venetian Hotel and Grand Canal Shoppes. A uniformed gondolier, and perhaps another couple, are your only companions as you relax and take in the Vegas-as-Venice scenery. Gondoliers sing Italian standards, like "O Sole Mio," and allow you to escape to Venice without going to Europe.

    The Experience
These gondolas are free-floating crafts not set on a track like amusement-park boat rides. A photographer takes your picture at the beginning of your ride, giving you the option to buy a photographic memento afterward. The indoor gondolas move quickly in a narrow, well-lit path along the Grand Canal Shoppes. The outdoor ride (weekends only) is more private and moves at a slower pace along a wider path that goes under the bridge at the front of the casino.
