Great place for Custom designed clothing, Club Wear, Trendy Wear 8/30/2006

The Attic has been treating me right for five years. Myra, Sophie, Angel and the guy who has been their tailor for the past four years have all gone out of their way to accomodate my needs. I'm not into buying vintage furniture or clothing so I can only speak of the merchandise on the first floor which features the Attic's own brand of Custom clothing, Club Wear and Trendy fashion. If the item you like isn't in your size no worries! Their on site tailor will custom make one for you in a few days. If it's not ready when you leave they will mail it to you and it will arrive on time. Got a picture of a killer outfit? Take it with you and they will bend over backwards to make your dream dress come true. I travel to Vegas from San Diego just to shop there. What? No tailors in San Diego? Yes many and I've tried several but none come even remotely close to doing what the Attic does for me in terms of price, quality, style and service. They get an A plus in my book. Don't let the $1.00 entry fee scare you off, go in pay the buck and revel in the coolest clothes in town. You won't be sorry Pros: Great service and prices Cons: Uneven part of town. Whats new, welcome to Las Vegas! more

Not worth the trip 8/3/2006

I am not sure what was worse about this place the prices or the staff. They do have some nifty vintage furniture in run of the mill condition and I don't think that any of the items in there would be considered ""one of a kind"" although the prices sure are. The staff was not helpful or attentive in any way. They just stood behind the counter and read a magazine. They have a good selection of clothing compared to other ""antique or vintage"" stores in Las Vegas. Although if you compare them to San Fransico or LA you will be very disappointed. The entrance fee is meant to keep out the degenerates and bums, and they refund your money with a purchase of $5 or more. All in all the store is just okay. I would not go out of your way tho visit this store. Pros: Some interesting clothing Cons: Staff, prices, parking and not open sundays more

The attic wow 4/18/2006

I thought the attic was wounderful. The fee wasnt that bad when they exlpained to me that the only resone was to keep homeless people out of the store and that they would gladly refund me the $1 if u were to by something over a $5. The quality of the downstairs merch. was great and they helped me design a coustume for a party. Up stairs that had a Wide veray of clothing from the 50-80s.I wouls recomend the story 100% Pros: friendly staff, beautiful costumes Cons: Parking more

Gimme a break! 1/20/2003

Can someone explain to me why I should PAY just to walk into a store? My first trip to Las Vegas, I went out of my way to find The Attic because I had read about it. It took an expensive cab ride to get me there, and then, as soon as I start looking around, I'm told I have to PAY to look? No $1 isn't much, but the principle was offensive. From what I saw before leaving (I wouldn't pay), their retro kitsch was astronomically overpriced, and their ""new"" clothes were just tacky and poorly made. What a rip off!! Pros: Nice window displays Cons: Entry fee!, arrogant staff, overpriced crap more

Loved It 12/25/2002

On my visit to the city, I focused onchecking out this store after seeing it on television. There was an entrance fee but nothing drastic and if you kept your card, you never had to pay again to get in. I was fascinated at the variety of things they had upstairs and downstairs. It seemed more like some type of exhibit rather than a store. It would be just a waste of time for older tourists but i'm sure the younger tourists like myself would enjoy it very much. Pros: rare items Cons: expensive more

Rags are the Richest 11/16/2002

The Attic was a store I had long wanted to visit because of its television advertising. After moving to Las Vegas & visiting the store, I could not have been more DISAPPOINTED. The hyped up movie trailor advertising left me looking for the real show after the ending. If I was interested in buying The Attic's personal line, I would revert to a Hello Kitty store in the local mall or the nearest strippers'r'us. I was displeased upon entry, being charged a fee, this is not Madame Tusauds. If I had been the slightest bit entertained during my visit, I would have not thought twice about the fee, but I found their prices for tattered rags to be equally outlandish. The Attic received alot of value for the advertising they purchased, but you will not receive the same value in their merchandise. There rags are the richest prices in town. Pros: still thinking Cons: Overrated more

If money is no object 11/10/2002

If you aren't turned off by the entrance fee just to get in the store, then you will be turned off by outrageous prices. The first floor, is neatly kept, and well organized, but the second floor resembles an overcrowded disheveled flea market, some of the 2nd hand garments are pretty worn. Sales people could be nicer, and a bit more courteous, I purchased an item and the girl behind the counter never even spoke to me, she just slapped the bag on the counter without even a thank you. Pros: Unique, Lots to look at, Organized, downstairs Cons: Crammed, upstairs, Enterance fee, Outrageous prices more

Too Much Hype 9/1/2002

This store is very overrated. As a vintage clothing expert, I found this place's ""2nd floor vintage"" collection offensive. Their things were only in fair condition (at best), and could probably be found in almost any run-of-the-mill used clothing store, but they were charging prices as if the items were mint condition, one-of-a-kind finds. (Even one of the employees told me that the prices were outrageous.) In addition, even though the entry fee is only a dollar, I found the very idea of charging entrance silly. Not even the most high end designer shops on Rodeo drive in Beverly Hills do such a thing, let alone a run-down, semi-vintage shop. Anyone who knows fashion would have to agree with me that ""The Attic"" probably charges as much as it does because is somehow has to pay for the media coverage they've been getting--not because the stuff is good quality. Pros: Cool Aquarium, In An Artsy Area Cons: Very Overpriced, Poor Service, Poor Variety more

Overpriced and Overrated 6/15/2002

The only reason why they have that entry fee is so the owners can earn even more money than they already do on their grossly overpriced merchandise. I'd rather go out and find my own vintage clothing rather than having it all pre-packaged for me. That's the difference between people who have to go to places like the Attic because they need to be told by a sales clerk what's cool and what isn't and someone who can know just by the cut or fabric or even by the buttons that something is, indeed, vintage. I wouldn't be surprised to see them open a store in the mall because that seems to be the crowd they're marketing to. Maybe there's a space open next to Hot Topic. more
