SO DELICIOUS!! GREAT SERVICE!! I wish I could eat here Every Day!!

Worst

If this is Atlanta's best for seafood, Burger King would make a good steak house! The food is substandard at best. It looks like seafood. It tastes like seafood. Yes, it's sea...

Best Seafood in Atlanta 9/24/2002

The food here is awesome. They really have the best seafood in Atlanta. Everything is fresh and the food is the most inventive, innovative and exciting I've had in a long time. This is on Roz's Must Go list! more

overrated and overpriced 9/12/2002

Maybe all of my friends are right in that growing up on the water has made me a seafood snob. I can not begin to descibe how disappointed I was by the seafood at the Fish Market. After waiting for well over an hour for a table and paying insane prices for obviously frozen seafood, I wondered what all the hype was about. Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe I just have the luxury of knowing what seafood is supposed to taste like when you are not land locked, but this place is completely overrated and overpriced to me. more

Too Crowded, Too Impersonal 8/29/2002

Atlanta Fish Market is too big and too crowded. The last time I went there I was completely ignored and finally left after having not been seated one hour after my reservation time. While the food is usually good, it does have a certain industrial, mass produced quality to it. The ambiance is reminisant of the old Atlanta Stadium. Looking for a family business with a personal touch? This isn't it. But, it is perfect for anyone who enjoys being a faceless part of the masses. Pros: fresh fish Cons: crowded, expensive, impersonal more

Never the same! A 8/17/2002

I like this place because the menu has been different all 3 times that I visited. The lobster is mouth watering and the other foods are equally as good. I think the prices are a little steep, but not too bad for what you get. I've never had a long wait, but whenever I go there seems to be a ton of people inside and outside waiting to leave (they only offer valet parking). I recommend it, especially for ATL visitors. Pros: Good food, prompt seating, nice decor Cons: long wait for valet, a little pricey more

rubber scallops 8/16/2002

Fish and scallops overcooked until rubbbery. Surly abusive service. Noisy. Worst seafood since the fish sticks in 3rd grade. Pros: great valet park Cons: overcooked food, surly service, noisy more

Still dreaming... 8/8/2002

I am still recalling the meal my husband and his recently affianced daughter and future son-in-law enjoyed in October 2001. Everything was excellent -- after eating at the Atlanta Fish Market --all other seafood houses pale... Pros: Crowded, Valet Parking, Excellent Wait Staff Cons: Crowded more

Big fish gets hooked. 8/6/2002

Always a delightful dining experience...that old Savannah boy Pano learned from the master, Bo Peep. Pros: Fresh seafood, Clean Cons: Long wait, poor parking more

Highly Recommend AFM! 7/31/2002

Atlanta Fish Market is the best restaurant in Atlanta! Their gumbo tastes more authentic than what you'll find in New Orleans! The blackened mahi is my favorite. I highly recommend you save room for dessert! Chocolate Explosion is delicious! There is no better dessert on the planet! Pros: Large portions, flavorful tasty foods, high-class Cons: moderately expensive, valet parking only, gets crowded quickly more

One of my personal favorites 7/29/2002

AFM is one of my favorite places to go in Buckhead. Their fish is fresh and prepared deliciously. Other seafood selections are also delightful. The oyster samplers and oyster casinos are also wonderful. The big open restaurant provides a nice atmosphere. I always like to go here for special occasions or just a nice night out. more

Seafood lover's delight! 7/26/2002

A seafood lover's delight! Good food, reasonably priced. A bit crowded and a bit loud, but still very good! Their bar is a nice alternative place to eat if smoking and drinking is also on your agenda. Pros: great seafood, parking for patrons, reasonable prices more

Best-quality seafood in town 7/7/2002

This is definitely Atlanta's best seafood restaurant. All fish and shellfish is flown in daily (unfortunately, this means the menu may lack a couple of key dishes when the fish in question is out of season). Parking is easy, thanks to the valet. Without reservations, the waits get pretty long, but you can pass the time rocking on the porch rockers; people-watching in the bar; or scoping the raw fish in the main dining area's glass cases. The place is built like an airplane hangar and gets noisy when crowded (which it always is). Not great for an intimate date, but ideal for groups and business dinners. You can go as casual or as formal as you want - from jeans to coat and tie. As far as the menu, you can find basically any fish cooked any way, and it's all near-perfect, as is service. Pros: Great-quality fish, Great variety, Fun people scene Cons: Noise, Crowds more

The Big Fish 6/27/2002

I love seafood and the Fish Market has the best. The drinks are good as well. more

Catch This! 6/13/2002

The food was excellent and the service was prompt. I had the halibut and a friend of mine had the red snapper, both were prepared excellent. The sushi appetizers here are also a winner! more

Fresh fish 5/30/2002

Not your average fish house, the Atlanta Fish Market serves up some of the freshest seafood in town. My father raves about the deep-fried lobster tails. Entrees are pricey and even if you have a reservation expect a wait. more

Perfect for a private party 5/19/2002

We had our rehearsal dinner here last month and it was lovely. We had 50 people in our party, and we had reserved a private room that has its own entrance and has large windows that look down onto the main dining room. The experience couldn't have been better--the service was efficient and friendly, the room was elegant and the food was tasty (desserts were the lowlight, but I was stuffed by then anyway). I don't have a single complaint. more
