The original Assembly Steak House opened in New York City in 1947 but moved to New Jersey in 1998 after being acquired by Jack Koumbis and his family. Jack Koumbis, is a 1984 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and the restaurant's head chef. The Assembly is large, seating about 110 in the main dining room and 80 more on the outdoor patio when the weather allows. There is a 95 seat dining room on the upper level for private and corporate parties. There is a large bar on the main level for guest to enjoy some great cocktails and fun happy hour drinks. The Assembly always has the freshest seafood and best cuts of beef available. The Assembly also has an in-house Sushi chef to create wonderful Sushi specialties.
