Best

Thanks to Aspyre for being so close to campus - otherwise, I'd probably have never made it to class on time! After graduating, I'm headed to the pool for some R&R!

Aspyre. Nice but policies are horrific 11/3/2010

Aspyre rooms are great, I like the kitchen, like the amenities but when it comes to the policies, things get pretty bad. - Parking for residents is great -Dont even think about having guests who drive as there is almost never enough parking for them. - Oh and if you let them in the garage, they take your pass indefinitely, so if you park in there you get towed. - And if you misplace your pass, thatll be $300.00 to get a new little sticker for you window - in the middle of the semester they just added new policies, so everyone must fill out more info and pick up new parking passes. If you want to live in a place where you can just...live. Aspyre is not for you. If you dont mind being constantly reminded that you have a boss/landlord, it wouldnt be bad. more

Safe, Beautiful, and Far Better Than the Rest! 10/27/2010

So, I had to write something after I read the ridiculous review from ""jake08"". I have lived at Aspyre since September 2009. I was one of the first residents of Aspyre. My roommate and I absolutely love it here. We have lived in the dorms and at Copper Beech and I must say this is the nicest place in Columbia for students to live. The appliances are your standard Kenmore appliances. No, they are not stainless steel but they work just fine. I am no genius or anything but the thermostat for the apartment is located in the living room. Thus, the living room is always cooler than the bedrooms. My roommate and I sleep with our bedroom doors open at night so our rooms generally stay as cool as the living room. When you close your doors the rooms will be hotter since the air flow is restricted.....DAH!!!!! Anyways, our electricity bill has been an average of $85. What are you doing to cause your electric bill to be that high jake08? TURN YOUR LIGHTS OFF ONCE IN AWHILE! The office staff is great. The ladies are so sweet and helpful. The gentleman that works in the office is super cute and nice. The maintenance staff is prompt and assertive. I love it here and would never have leased at The Lofts...gross!!!!!!!! more

Flashy, swanky, but cheap. 9/9/2010

Lived here for two months. I like it, but I do have a few bones to pick with the way this place works. PROS: The maintenance staff is quick, the amenities are nice, and I managed to get my rent reduced. It's a decent place, very roomy, soft carpet. If you're clever you can take advantage of deals and stuff to get around fees. CONS: The walls are paper thin, the appliances are GARBAGE and use a ton of power (power bill was 155 the first month). The massive glass windows are NOT INSULATED. If you keep your doors closed in August, the bedrooms will be 5-10 degrees hotter than the living room. The AC is blasting 24/7, but all the cool gets sucked out through these giant windows. The weatherstripping on the doors is terrible. The sinks are cheap. Expect to pay a MINIMUM of 100 dollars a month in power for AC alone if you keep your room at 77F. These apartments were built purely with aesthetics in mind, and invisible functionality was thrown to the wayside. They LOOK NICE, but nothing works the way it's supposed to. Go with the Lofts. It looks shitty, sure, but everything works right, power AND cable are covered in the CHEAPER rent, and are very honest about everything you're getting. more

Best apartment in Columbia - Hands down! 8/30/2010

I have lived at Aspyre for over a year now and I cannot say enough great things about it. The location is the best in town. Very close proximity to both USC and downtown. The front office staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They always go above and beyond to make sure that every question is answered and any maintenance problems are taken care of immediately (within 24 hours). I've referred two friends since moving in, and they love it too. more

Fees, Fees, and more Fees 7/20/2010

They trick you into thinking you get a deal with no deposit but that's just so they can charge you a 'application fee' that's close to 200 dollars and non refundable. Then they charge you fee on top of fee for anything and everything you'd like to do in the building including using the club room. I would stay away from here, they also charge you for just about everything when you move out. Be wary. Pros: Close to USC Cons: FEES FOR EVERYTHING more
