Asian Grill

I used to go here all the time until the last two times I visited. I went for lunch. It was obvious they were understaffed, but they seated us anyway. Lunch took 45 minutes to come once ordered. The worst part, I could see my food on the counter, waiting to be served, and it took them 20 minutes to bring it over to me. A similar thing happened the second time, except it was with our drinks -- they were delivered AFTER the mean. I do NOT recommend. I would go for takeout ONLY. more

ASAIN GRILL is one unsavory restaurant! This place will rob your wallet dry and leave you with a bad taste in your mouth. The service is incredibly unfriendly. I used to dine there all the time because I live close by and the last time I was there will be my Last time! The owner of the restaurant was the sushi chef that night. I was appalled by his rudeness. He was giving me dirty looks the entire time I was trying to eat and to top off the night he started stuffing his face with his dinner right in front of me! Asian Grill in Waltham offers an all you can eat sushi buffet for $26 per person. The owner added so much rice to your sushi order that you can only eat one round; you are so stuffed, forget about a second plate. I ordered a few hand rolls and they were packed with (and I’m not exaggerating) one cup of rice! I eat sushi almost 3 times a week and I have tried at least 50 sushi joints in and around the Boston area…this was by far the most unprofessional, non-authentic dining experience ever! I will never go back there again! What an unappetizing experience! Anyone who should know how to run a sushi restaurant is the owner. Right? This guy will never receive another dime from my pocket and I highly recommend anyone who plans to dine at Asian Grill to try another place cause there is plenty of other good sushi spots around. more

Oftentimes one person wants Thai and someone else wants Korean, so Asian Grill is a good place to get a variety. Their Bi Bim Bap (Ok Dol -- in the hot stone pot) is delicious. People seem to be happy with their sushi selection. The Thai and all the other Asian dishes have most of the dishes you would expect for those cuisines (all the stand by/standards). The restaurant can get quite crowded on weekends with a bit of a wait. The parking is a little bit of a walk -- it's very hard to find a spot on the street since it's near a pretty busy corner. Decore is nothing special (nothing offensive, but nothing exciting). more

Sushi, curry, stir fry... it's all here and all good. They do a bustling lunchtime business due to the very reasonably priced sushi combos and bento boxes (a lot of food for the price!), and you can sit at the bar, tables or booths. Everything is fresh and delicately seasoned, but I've had better miso soup elsewhere. The choice of brown or white rice is a considerate touch. The only complaints are that the green tea isn't complimentary, and the chef never remembers to skip the roe on my california rolls no matter how many times I say, "no tobiko." The staff are attentive but not overtly friendly. Parking is just up the block, but you can cut through the alley to get to the entrance. A good deal and solidly consistent cuisine. more
