Art Walker Auto SVC

I desperately needed a tow truck today while I was obstructing traffic and two other tow companies said it would be at least an hour. One referred me to Art Walker's and from the time I had gotten off the phone it only took 6 minutes! I was so relieved to be on my way home and out of the rain... DJ was friendly and such a life saver. Thanks again! more

Interesting enough, my story is similiar to Ruddfan71, only my car only sat for a week before being looked at. My car was T-boned by another driver and apparently all it needed was an alignment and a new wheel/tire.\r While that may be the truth, I was told that I couldn't get the old tire back since they paid the $50 for a core charge and the 'other' company they purchased the wheel from took the old on.\r When I insisted on getting the wheel back the produced it. So aparently they paid a core charge without give them the core. \r They made me pay an additional $50 to get my wheel back and gave me a story about how they have extra wheels laying around and that they gave the guy someone elses wheel.\r I would have stood my ground but I am just going to pass the cost onto the other guys insurance.\r On top of everything, the miserable bitch behind the counter couldn't give me anymore pissy condesending looks if she tried.\r and by the way, they have a warranty on their labor but can't produce any paperwork on it, so when asked they just say that they don't need paperwork, its 'Standard'.\r Whatever that means. I was excited that they had some good reviews on another site, but you never see the bad reviews until after the work is done.\r My search for a reputible, reliabe, competent Virginia Beach mechanic continues. more

It took 3 MONTHS to fix my car. To begin with I was in an accident not of my fault, I was t-boned in the passenger side. Art Walkers towing service was called to tow my car away from the accident without any problems. When I was asked who I wanted to repair my car, I told the insurance company that because they were helpful in towing my car that I would go ahead and let them fix the car. What A BAD IDEA that was. Just like a review before mine, the car sat for 2 weeks. I was told that they were ordering all the parts before they would begin. When they finally got the car inside it sat for another 3 weeks. I would call at least twice a week to get updates, and was told the same thing, it would be done in a week. That week turned into a total of 3 MONTHS. When it was finally finished I was excited to see how it turned out, I couldn't wait to see it finished. It looked like junk. Instead of new parts, they got used parts. The passenger side had 3 different shades of silver. The car was never aligned, nor were the tie-rods replaced like the quote called for. I could not believe it, I have never been so upset with anything or anyone like I was that day. When I complained they acted as if they did nothing wrong at all, like it was no big deal to them. When I told them I was not going to give them the check from the insurance company, they did the same thing as a reviewer before me, gonna hold the car for ransom. You know they say that ""what goes around, comes around"" I'll leave it at that. more

MY SON, WHO IS IN THE NAVY, HAD HIS CAR TOWED BY THIS PLACE, CHARGED HIM $900 TO GET IT OUT, AND THEN TURNED AROUND AND CHARGED HIM ANOTHER $187 FOR A TIRE AND LUG NUTS. I DEALT WITH ART HIMSELF WHO WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE HAD THE TIRE CHANGED AND READY FOR HIM WHEN HE RETURNED TO PORT AND WAS NOT SUPPOSE TO HAVE CHARGED HIM ANYTHING FOR THE TIRE. BUT WHEN ASKED ABOUT IT HE COULDN'T REMEMBER THE CONVERSATION. I SEE HOW WELL HE TREATS THE MEMBERS OF OUR ARMED FORCES AND THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO FIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY. I WOULD NEVER DO ANYMORE BUSINESS WITH HIM!!! more

I used Art Walker body shop for a rear bumper repair when my vehicle was rear ended. Not only did the repair look perfect, but they also cleaned the interior ...it was spotless. I am an insurance adjuster and know the reasonable AND unreasonable cost of auto repairs. I found Art Walker's to be fair, honest and very reasonable. We are extremely appalled with the unprofessional customer service we have experienced with this company not just once, but on numerous occasions. We have used this company several times before and not only was the response slow, but rude in the same sense. We have spent a lot of money with these people in the past couple of months and its quite obvious that they do not care to keep customers. We had asked them to tow our car from one shop to another about a week ago. We just found out today that the car is STILL sitting there in the same spot....needless to say we were infuriated! A piece of our livelihood that gets us to and from work has not been worked on all this time due to the negligence of this company to communicate to us that they could not find Dr. Honda because they have moved! Maybe you people should invest in a GPS Navigator...or maybe you cant afford one because your too busy ticking off customers to make any money. When we called to find out why it had not been towed, they simply stated ""We tried calling you several times"" Well.....thats a bunch of lies because that number would have shown up on a cell phone caller ID! He then goes on to state ""We'll I'm not going to tow it, you'll need to find someone else."" Well guess what, we sure did find someone else and with much better customer service! I will never spend any more of my money on these people. So with all that said, I highly recommend that you go else where for your towing needs! Cannot say enough good about the service and customer service we experienced with Art Walker - Jimmy is a gem and a half. He took care of us with a smile and did not over charge us at all. THANKS so much for the quick attention. more
