NEW MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9/10/2008

I have been a loyal customer of Aroma Italiano Cafe for quite sometime. I love the food and the atmosphere. Recently the service hasn't been as great as it used to be but I was there this past week and I found out that the Manager Shimon who also used to tell people he was the owner which infact he was not the owner, has been replaced. Which already you can see a big difference in the service. I advise anyone who stopped going there because of poor customer service, should start eating there again because it is better than before! Great Food, Awesome Customer Service, and all for a Great Price! Pros: New Management and Excellent Food, Service, and Prices Cons: Absolutely nothing more

Great food, bad atmosphere 7/13/2008

We went to aroma last week, and, while the food was very good, the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. There was just one server on duty, and some big shot named Shimon. The restaurant was not as busy as it was last year when they used to have three or four servers during dinner, but it was too busy for one server to handle properly. But, while the server was running around trying to take care of the all tables, Shimon chose that time to sit down in the main dining area and eat dinner as if he was a VIP. While he saw that the server was busy, he never lifted a finger to help out and even ignored the server's requests for assistance - he basically just ignored the restaurant and the customers as if he was the most important person there. Later on, he finally managed to get off his chair, but only to insult a customer and give that customer his pompous attitude. Never once did he go to a table and greet them, or even show appreciation that the customers were even there. After some research, I later learned that although he sometimes claims to be the owner, this Shimon is not the owner. Instead, he is the brother of the owner, and simply an employee. Unfortunately, he is the chief reason that this restaurant is no where near as busy as it was a year ago. It's a shame that another really good restaurant has gone downhill. As I said, the food is still good, but, it's a roll of the dice whether you get to enjoy a nice atmosphere any more, and after our last experience, I'm not sure that my wife and I want to go back there. more

Best italian food in vegas 6/10/2008

I'm not sure about the first review here, but it can't be the same restaurant that they visited. Perhaps if they couldn't remember what they even had to eat, they must have mixed this restaurant up with another one. This restaurant is an Italian restaurant in a little plaza on S. Rainbow just north of the 215. We found it by accident as we were driving around looking for Italian food close to our house. THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN VEGAS! This place has so much character and charm. They have a beautiful, tranquil atrium off of the main dining area with a huge fountain just draped with plants. Very tastefully decorated. The service, food excellent! The best part is that it is privately owned, so they actually CARE about their product and service. Not like all the rest of commercial chains in this town that you can eat at in almost any of the fifty states. I highly recommend their garlic, basil and olive oil pasta dish. My kids ate every bite on their plates. It's modestly priced. No more, no less expensive than anywhere else for a sit down meal. Gotta try it, THUMBS UP! Pros: Awesome Ambience, Delicious Food and modestly priced Cons: None whatsoever more

Over priced, forgetable food 5/21/2008

We eat Mediterranean often and I agree with the previous review, the food was mediocre and forgettable, can't remember exactly what we ate. The outdoor dining was pretty though. Most Mediterranean restaurants tend to be pricier, but leaving this one I felt quite disappointed. Pros: outdoor dining Cons: price, food more

Beautiful atrium, mediocre food 10/1/2007

We requested a table in the atrium known as the Small Talk Garden which was filled to capacity with beautiful plants and a large fountain. The owner, former executive chef at Drai?s, greeted us, did not need to introduce himself, you just knew from his demeanor and appearance. The food is described as pan Mediterranean ? a little French, a little Middle East, a little of this and that. My wife chose the Patagonian toothfish, an 8-ounce filet sauteed and served over mashed potatoes and bokchoy simmered in ginger and lemongrass sauce. I chose a crispy chicken breast served with mashed potatoes, asparagus and creamy mushroom sauce. My chicken was overdone and both sauces were uninspired. Pros: gorgeous atrium more
