Eat and relax 10/30/2006

Over the past three days, I've eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting. The outside tables are surrounded by trees wrapped with tiny golden lights. The place can get really crowded and who can blame them? They have great coffee, a wide selection of desserts, and the entrees are abundant and delicious. If you're going to order potatoes with your breakfast, skip the bland rosemary potatoes and order the award-winning hash brown patties instead. Have I mentioned how pet-friendly this place is?? Pros: beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, good food Cons: parking more

Depends on whether you want to relax or not 10/6/2006

I like this place because it has personality and in the Valley, you are often limited. The menu is good. The problem is that it really is not the best place if you want to just relax. You have to stand in line to order your food. You take a number back to your table, and then someone delivers it to you. The problem is that once the food is delivered to you, no one will ever help you if you need something. And people often bring their dogs, which is fine if they are well behaved. Unfortunately, it really is not a relaxing morning if someone brings a yippy dog that barks every five minutes. Pros: Style, outside seating, nice menu Cons: service, dogs more

What a nice place and the food is awesome. They have a great area outside to sit out and people watch and as I say, the food is very good and the menu is huge so you'll definately find something you like. Pros: Great food, nice atmosphere Cons: none more

With plenty of outdoor seating, it's a great place to go during the weekends, but be prepared to stand in line a while in the morning, especially on Sunday. Luckily, the servers are pleasant and quick. The desserts are tasty, there's a variety of scrumptious smoothies and there are even some healthy meal options. Be prepared for the hipster vibe. more

One of LA's best coffee houses 12/31/2004

With the small gift and book shop "Portait of a Bookstore" in the back, and great coffee and pasteries, this is one of LA's small treasures. My wife and I go here frequently to find inexpensive and unique gifts for both children and adults in the book store, and to have coffee and a pastery. The food is way above average too; they have excellent BLTs and surprisngly, one of the best burgers in LA. Service is pleasant. Food delivery after placeing an order could be a bit faster. more

Good, but a touch pricey 10/8/2003

When it is busy here it can be bit overwhelming placing your order and getting your number for your table or your pastry etc.., the process can be a bit slow. However I've had nothing but good experiences with the staff they are very nice. Food is a bit overpriced for what you get. I like their espresso roast a lot! I have a toddler and they are always happy to see him too. No highchairs though... sigh... Pros: quality food, quality coffee, quality staff Cons: a bit pricey, often crowded more

Okay Okay, I'll pay for the ambiance 8/23/2003

It's a cool vibe, especially on the back patio and in the "library". The coffee and food are average - good, not great, and overpriced for the quality and portions. The service is usually given without a smile, like the staff is angry that they're not the ones lounging with their laptops. But still - it's a great place to chill, people watch, and work. Pros: ambiance Cons: service, parking, bathroom more

Aroma is amazing! I discovered it many years ago, and I've been going back ever since. The coffee's incredible (some kind of special roaster), and they feature lots of interesting pastries. Their food is good, too... Lots of basics done very well. The service is always very friendly. There's nothing else like it in Los Angeles. It's like Europe found Studio City. Pros: Eccletic & charming, Outstanding coffee, Unique pastries Cons: Closes at 11:00 pm more

Cozy outdoors 1/23/2003

I love to get a big, frothy mocha here and take it to the outside patio. Don't be surprised if a dog joins you on the patio, lots of people seem to bring their pups here. Makes the place better in my opinion. The coffee drinks are pretty good here, but the cakes can be a bit dry. Overall, I like it a lot and often think of going here when in Studio City. Pros: cozy patio, pet-friendly more
