Archibald's Restaurant

Archibald's Restaurant is my FAVORITE restaurant. They have delicious food (the Country Chicken Pasta & White Chocolate Bread Pudding are TDF!), friendly service and a great atmosphere! A+ more

We went to Archibald's yesterday and had a great lunch, fabulous fish and chips(halibut) and wonderful homemade soup and to top off a great lunch we were served free carrot cake for their birthday (homemade and the best I have ever eaten). Can't wait to go back our new favorite restaurant... more

What happened to Archibald's? Dined there Monday Feb 23 and in the past they served good food at a reasonable price. Now prices have increased significantly and quality has dropped off the charts. Ordered Teriyaki Stir Fry with steak. Looked like they found a few scraps of beef and beef fat for starters then added thin sliced squash that was overcooked that went well with the al dante carrots and other veggies. Worst of all was the under cooked rice. Rice shouldn't crunch when eaten. Would have complained but as we don't intend to return what would be the point. This probably explains the nearly empty parking lot and restaurant. Pros: Nice enough staff Cons: Lousy food more

I thought the first time were visited it was just a bad day. But the second time we still were served cold food, soggy salad with brown lettuce and prime rib that was ordered medium but served well done. The cheese sauce had a 'skin' layer as if it had been sitting for a long time. The baked potato was so cold the butter wouldn't melt. We were asked if we wanted another beverage after our meal was completed and glasses had been empty for 45 minutes. It took 2 hours from the time 4 of us sat down until we were brought a check. My past two visits have been disappointing for my guests and me. The food is the major draw back. I would be glad to pay more for food that is more flavorful and fresh. Good comfort food. Good variety. Interesting place to take a date, or your family. Go early and visit the shops at 'Gardner Village' or take a walk along the Jordan River Parkway right next door. My teenagers love this. My 15 year old son is requesting a return trip for his birthday. more

I took a group of 45 to this restaurant after arranging 3 set menus with the event coordinator. She was very flexible with the menu choices and the planning of the evening. They requested that everyone choose from 3 entrees 48 hours prior to our event. (They let me inform them 24 hours prior.) This is particularly hard with a group this size. After all of this, the servers still had to take everyones order; twice. It took over 1 hour 15 minutes for people to get served. Some people didn't get their food until others had finished. However, my guests commented that the food was great despite the wait. I am confident that if we had 1 more server (they only gave us 2 for our large group) things would have run very smoothly and timely. I will try them again with future groups.
