Unique Homemade Dish 5/28/2010

Best part of this restaurant is their house specialty made-up by the owner - Kimchee Jaeyook Ddukboki with Cheese. It was this huge pot of deliciousness. Stewed and spiced pork (you can opt for seafood too), rice cakes (Dduk), kimchi, vegetables, spices and to top it all off, cheese (mozzarella and cheddar). Then, about half way through the dish, they add in rice, sesame leaves, roasted seaweed and caviar and mix it all together?mmm. This was unlike anything I had ever eaten before and all I can say is that you need to try it for yourself! It was simply outstanding. Pros: Kimchee Jaeyook Ddukboki with Cheese more

I'm in Cheese Dukboki heaven!!! 8/6/2009

I'm not sure how it took me so long to get there, but i finally had a chance to check out the cheese dukbokki there last night with some pals. Pros: unbelievable dukbokki (especially their special ""cheese"") Cons: Not sure what the rest of the menu is like more

Their rice cake is soooooo good 8/6/2009

I LUV LUV their spicy rice cake and korean pancakes Pros: I like their atmosphere and rice cake more

What do you expect? 1/17/2007

C'mon people, this isn't the Four Seasons. The food is decent and at that price, well worth the visit. If you care expecting a great meal and great service, don't go there. If you want to fill your stomach to max capacity and don't care if your water glass is always empty, this is the place. Pros: Cheap, lots of options Cons: Bad service more

If you want horrible sushi and sneaky service, this is the place for you! 12/11/2006

When we walked up to the restaurant, there was a sign that read, ""Best and freshest sushi in town!"" Well, to educate the chefs of Arang, directly translated, sushi means vinegar (su) and rice (shi). There was no vinegar in the sushi. It tasted awful. The fish looked like it was sitting out all day. Also, like the previous reviewer, I was tricked into leaving the tip twice. I went straight to the register to pay, and she quotes me the total price, not informing me the gratuity was included. She never showed me the itemized bill. Sneaky, sneaky.... Pros: Cheap ($10) Cons: Bad food, sneaky employees more

24 Hour Blah 10/21/2006

Arang is not as fantastic as it seems since the buffet is no longer being offered and the service has taken a turn for the worst. The food is still cheap thankfully, but the food is subpar. Pros: Prices, Hours Cons: Service, Food more

What customer service? 10/16/2006

$10 for a lunch buffet? Not bad you think. But the quality is awful. You're better going across the street for the korean salad bar. It's like bad takeout Chinese. You'll get your money's worth if you can eat for 2 or more rounds but I don't recommend it. And the worse part of it? My friends and I were trying to figure out the bill (in front of the cashier lady) and although the service and food wasn't all that great we worked out a 15% tip anyways. Later we found out they already added gratuity on top of the bill. And she didn't say ANYTHING! Pros: Cheap if you eat ALOT Cons: sneaky staff more
