This is regarding apimgmt's comment below from November 06, 2007. Are you nuts? Your comment about trying to find out who the negative comment reviewers are and threatening to sue them is a complete lie! How would you be able to identify them if city search only displays your first name and last initial? This is a public forum and people can write and review in any matter they want (as long as the reviews are not physically threats). I think his comments highlight EXACTLY what this company is about - garbage. These positive comments (other than 1 or 2 that may be real) are from a contractor that worked there? Aren't these reviews suppose to be written by people who actually had the misfortune of living in one of their crappy apartments? more

This company's threats to sue authors of critical reviews on CitySearch (see below) perfectly illustrates the problem with this business and its attitude toward tenants. Appleton proves the merit of such complaints by demonstrating just the behavior complained of in its response. And here's another complaint, for which I'm sure they'll threaten to sue.\r \r Had the great misfortune to live in a property briefly affiliated with Appelton. The company hired by unethical landlord, Jan Holibaugh, specifically to help her push out tenants who raised issues with negligently maintained, unsafe property at 5340 SE Milwaukie Ave Avenue in Portland, OR. Appleton took a totally adversarial position with respect to the tenants, and within about a month, over 50% of the building moved out specifically due to their bullying and dishonest tactics. Tactics used against tenants included threatening to destroy tenant property and retaliating against tenants who requested basic repairs. Avoid these people at all costs. \r more

This place is trash. I agreed 100% with what other said about this place. The service is so bad. Not sure if it's them or the people they hired because no one seems to care about us. All they want is our $$$. I had a leaking pipe, call them up to fix it and all they say is we're busy. I had to use a bucket to hold the leaking water and clean out the mess myself day after day. It's been two weeks now and they still said they're not sure when they'll be free to fix it. It's getting worst and I hate it. I asked them for a discount because the place is trash and they said NO. This place made me mad. I hate them!!! What are we paying for? Trash??? AVOID APPLETON PROPERTIES AT ALL COST! Cons: Bad services, bad office worker, not helpful at all. more

I am amazed at some of the comments made here! It seem's to me that most were written by one person. I have been a contractor for Appleton properties for several years and have never heard any of the complaints posted here. Many are patently false. Their offices are large, well lit and clean. They follow up with contractors in a timely manner, and go to great lengths to make sure jobs are done correctly. Why, in all the postings has no one signed off with their name?? Strange. I recently purchased a home in one of the subdivisions which Appleton manages for the HOA. Upon receiveing our second bill we noticed some erroneous charges on our statement from the month prior. I called the staff and they resolved my concern swiftly and in a most professional manner. \r \r Not to mention our front yard is perfectly manicured!
