I wish I had seen these ratings before going to AppleOne. At first, they found me an employer and told me it would be a 3 months to permanent hire. I, like a moron, believed them. I spent the entire 3 months very unhappy and not hearing a thing from AppleOne until I received a call from a woman whom I had never met. She proceeded to tell me all the things I was doing wrong with the firm. She told me she had called the office manager (a woman I did not work with nor did she no anything first hand about me) who told her several things that were just not true. I told told AppleOne the truth and was ignored. I was told that I should step up and do as I was told. Please keep in mind I had just gotten out of the hospital and started work two weeks before I was supposed to (according to the doctor). After my 3 months were up I called AppleOne to ask if I had been offered the permanent position as I heard nothing from the firm. The girl I spoke to said "did they tell you, you couldn't more

Bernie Howroyd is a liar and a thief. 3/31/2010

I saw a job listing with a branch I had previously registered with and called them up. I had to re-register with them, and spend 2-3 hours talking to a new recruiter, re-taking exams and watching videos I've taken several times. Despite calling the office on a regular basis, the recruiter never got me into the position I applied for or even found me a single days work. I've had this happen at three different Apple One offices. \r \r Plus, the one Apple One branch that did find me work betrayed my trust. When I received my assignment I was told I was it was a long term (10-12 month) temp position. I was let go without any notice 5 weeks later. The manager of the small Apple One office I work with even recruited my replacement (vs defending me their recently hired hard working employee.) Plus Apple One never told me a thing and left me unable to even pick up my paycheck. I've never felt so betrayed by an employer in my life.\r \r I am registered with four Apple One offices and d more

RUN. Don't walk away from this company. They will squeeze you for all you are worth and leave you bleeding. Unethical standards, cut throat mentality and nothing but a stressful, backstabbing unpleasant, unprofessional environment. \r I would advise anyone trying to get in to this company to rethink the decision. more

AppleOne Employment/Howroyd Group are HORRIBLE employers 5/28/2008

I worked for AppleOne/Howroyd Group and they are the worst employers!. I really think Bernie Howroyd thinks that he doesn't have to follow state Labor Laws, if you leave the company he doesn't pay you for unused vacation which is against the LAW in most states.I hear that there was a rat infestation at one of their Southern California branches and Bernie Howroyd(Pres.) refused to move his employees to a new location, therefore exposing them to toxins.I heard it took them literally 8 months to relocate the employees to a new location! He better be glad as H** that I didn't work in that location, Plus their upper management can't write OR spell! The Managers do NOTHING, but gossip about employees, collect PHAT checks, get plastic surgery and ride around in luxury vehicles. They should change the name to SUCKERS APPLY HERE! The Absolute Worst 11/9/2007

Completely unprofessional and unethical. \r \r They lure you in with the promise of a great job that doesn't actually exist. You then spend 2-3 hours taking tests and answering questions that no one will ever refer to when placing you somewhere. IF they ever call you back. I specifically asked for a position in the San Gabriel Valley area. EVERY gig they put me up for was in the West Side.\r \r Don't waste your time. They are the laughing stock of temp agencies 7/14/2007

I had basically the same experience as the others who posted here...called about an accounting assignment they supposedly had available, went to their office and wasted close to 2 hours of my time taking their tests and meeting with a "counselor", etc. And then I never heard from them again. I later went to another staffing agency (one of the largest in the country) and got some work from them, and was told that the majority of the positions posted by Appleone on those job sites do not even exist! Why on earth they even bother to waste people's time like that is puzzling. Maybe they collect candidate information and then resell it or who knows?? There is no logical explanation for it. \r \r AVOID APPLEONE AT ALL COSTS! more

They waste your time testing, you get top marks, they give you wonderful feedback, then you never hear from them. If you go to Monster you will see all these jobs they supposedly have,. Huh! I don't think so! I personally think they make up all those great positions to get you in the door. I bet you anything these girls rely on commission to pay their salary. I think they get all the relevant information from you then try to sell you to companies in the area. I heard they were bad from someone but decided to give them a chance. I think if you are good at what you do and are looking for a good salary you're wasting your time with this one. more

Dont even waste your time with Appleone, this agency sucks. I came here and I probably took a little under an hour doing a test and talking to the agency people. I was never called for a job. They make you feel like they will have something for you And nothing! more

I scored almost 100% on every computer test they gave me. After one job they got for me didn't work out, they acted like I was invisible. more

I was given a huge welcome when I entered here. I was given entensive tests to rate my knowledge and expertise. I watched informative videos while I waited for my councelor and my councelor was amazing and seemed all fired up about my experience and howmany positions she had that I would be qualified to fill...but once I walked out that door not one position did I ever fill and I called my councelor DAILY about all those positions she said I was qualified to fill. more
