Yes, NY Rude. Lame ""to go"" pizza came on a paper plate shoved in a white paper bag. Can you say ""sauce on my back seat""? How stupid can you be?

GREAT FOOD 2/29/2012

I am a native New Yorker and have been in the Charlotte area for about 4 years. Up until recently discovering Nino's Pizza and Pasta (formerly Anzi's) I have not been able to have real NY style pizza. Its safe to say that the food at Nino's was GREAT! I thoroughly enjoyed my supreme slice of pizza, while I shared some chicken parmigiana with my wife. The sauce they use was spectacular! I will definitely be telling my friends and family about this place! more

Best food best service I have found so far in Charlotte 12/19/2008

Pizza is great. Calimari is the best TRY IT. And Phil (the owner ) is top notch. If you want a great place to eat and get good prices as well this is your place. And they are open on Sundays now so you can treat yourself to a great meal on Sunday afternnon and not have to spend time in the kitchen Pros: Great food at a great price Cons: wife wont let me eat there more than 3 times a week more

great itlaian food-great art 4/23/2008

wow- anzi at stonecrest now re-decorated-place looks great, and the food was wonderful. i just read the review about the baked ziti below before I went-dont know what that guy is talking about, I ASKED THE CHEF-THERE IS NO GARLIC IN THE BAKED ZITI. anyway, i had the tuscan salad and my husband had the chicken marsala. bothe were delicious. ,my kids split the baked ziti. i trieds it-was very good. also had a slice. excellent pizza. Pros: great food and new look. prices still low compared to others more

GREAT FOOD AND PIZZA 4/23/2008

tried the place more than oce just to make sure, this place is genuine NY and the pasta was excellent. pizza was outstanding, closest to home i have had. we had the regular and the bruschetta pizza. also tried the calzones and baked siti last time. calzone was great, but a little to big. baked ziti was great. Pros: great food, great family place Cons: may have to wait 10-15b minuted for pizza, very busy more

Too much Cheese !! 4/22/2008

Pizza was way over cheesed, but the crust is good and crisp with the sesame seeds.\r Baked ziti was awful!! Was nothing but cheese! Could not eat it. Had to pick out the ziti and left about a pound of cheese on plate. I asked for some sauce on the side. Way too much garlic in it!!!\r Advice: Dumping on a ton of cheese on everything does NOT make good Italian food.\r or over garlicing. (save money and use less cheese). more

amazing pizza, plus the dinners were great-very family friendly 4/15/2008

we just tried anzi on rea road for the second time. the first time was great, has the bruschetta pizza, but this time we tried the dinners. my wife got the chicken parm, it was great, and huge. i tried the chic picatta. WOW. mu kids had some kids pasta-they were good too. we love the new atmosphere. will be back for more of those new pies. tlane- its very busy on wekends-we tried during the week the second time, still busy but much less congestion. Pros: friendly owners, excellent food, very family friendly Cons: parking limited-they fill up fast on weekends more

rude rude and more rude 11/20/2007

Totally blond takes 20 mins for already made slices then slams them on counter calling out our name.\r Owner does nothing and we have been a steady customer for a few years now. NEVER AGAIN!!! Also have to tell my friends Wolfman much better and not rude. To the owner get better help! You have lost a few customers sir... We loved the pie but same as other customers it's not that good to have a 15 year old act so rude. Sorry but NEVER again! Pros: nothing really Cons: needs to have better service and nice people more

Great Family Pizzaeria 6/16/2006

This place reminds me of my local pizzeria on Long Island. It is a family run place, you can see Mr. Anzi running around yelling at all the other family members and workers. That is a true Italian Pizzeria!! My kids love watching the pizzaman make the calzones, strombolies and pizza!! Great place....Great people....GREAT FOOD!!!!! Pros: Great shopping center Cons: weekend parking more

It's ok, but it's not NY!! 12/2/2005

I thought Anzi's pizza was reminiscent of Ellio's--doughy and greasy! Not characteristics that I look for in a pizza. Charlotte is definitely lacking in the pizza department! Although the pie wasn't fabulous, it was (frighteningly) one of the better pizzas I've had in the area, aside from the brick-oven, superthin crust pizzas at other restaurants. I have to say, that their service was great! They were very friendly, and I find it hard to believe that ANYBODY has had bad service here. Pros: Service, Location more

Nothing NEW YORK about this place! 8/25/2004

I want to write to the owners of Anzi and ask them to change their menu, because there is NOTHING New York about their pizza! Yes, I am from New York, and I have yet to find good pizza in Charlotte. I was especially disappointed in Anzi's so-called NY Style pizza. Clearly the chefs have never been to NY, because what they are serving isn't even remotely similar to NY pizza. It's too thick and doughy, with too much cheese and not enough sauce. If they want to make pizza that way, fine... just don't attach the NY name to it! The good news is that the staff at Anzi was extremely friendly and accomodating. I have nothing bad to say about the service whatsoever! Anyone who claims that all New Yorkers are rude have never been there! Pros: Friendly, Good service more

BEST Pizza in the South 6/19/2004

My husband and I are from up north and it took us about half a year to find Anzi's. Until then it was one bad pie after another and horrid italian subs with of all things mayo and mustard added. Anzi's extra thin and well done NYorker pizza and their Anzi's combo italian sub with Greek dressing is to DIE for. The pasta sauces are just about as close to Sunday pasta supper as you can get. Authentic, Authentic, Authentic!!!!!!!!!! As for some of the reviews about rudness at the counter, I find it very hard to believe. Most NY's are very kind and courteous and we have only been treated that way. Your either hyper sensitive or coming across as rude to get treatment like that from the WONDERFUL staff at Anzi's. Pros: Authentic Food, Wonderful Workers more

Never coming BACK!!! 7/18/2003

Repeatedly the worst service I've ever recieved. Not even NY'ers are that rude. Drop the attitude. You in the south. Your pizza is not that good to get me to come back to be treated like dirt. more

Ok but 4/2/2003

possibly the rudest counter staff I ever encountered outside of NY. Oh wait... is this supposed to make me feel like I am in NY? If so, they did a great job. Foods OK but I won't be back. Their attitude is that they are doing me a favor taking my money.. I could go on but you get my point. Pros: Cheap Cons: Rude, Rude, Rude more

To Go Gone Bad 2/9/2003

Top Notch 1/3/2003

I've read reviews about Anzi Pizza but never took the time to try it until last weekend. Great pizza and great service. Many varieties of Italian cuisine to choose from. more

Everything is Good!! 6/23/2002

With reasonable prices and GREAT food, this is my favorite Italian restaurant in Charlotte. Seating is limited, but they do have take-out and delivery as options to eating in. I don't think I've ever had anything that wasn't good, whether it was an appetizer, entree, pizza, sub or dessert! Pros: Take-Out, Delivery, Fast & Inexpensive Cons: Limited Seating, Closed Sundays more
