Anthony's Italian Restaurant

My wife and I ate here yesterday for the first (and last) time. We live right around the corner so we thought we would try it out. We ordered a carafe of Cab, only to receive a container of spoiled wine. Smelled like sour vinegar, I couldn't believe they even brought it out. The waitress, Bobbie Joe, was nice, but not really that helpful. The french onion soup was nice, too bad I won't be back. The fried mushrooms were good as well. The pizza however, was completely inedible. It was lukewarm, the mozzarella was cold and rubbery, and there was more crust (which was more than two inches thick) than there were toppings. We did take a bite....yuck! No manager came to us, although they did take it off the bill...I wouldn't have paid for it anyway! What a disappointment. You would figure in this economy that an establishment would be more sensitive to their patrons. We ended up going to Rossi's for pizza, which as usual, was good... Our experiences at Anthonys have been the most pleasurable of our adult lives. They have live entertainment, great food, fast friendly service, all in a very clean enviroment. We have had everything from New York style pizza to gormet Italian dishes, such as Zupppa De Pesche, chicken Marsala, and veal Franchaise. There is something for everyone on the menu and everyday they have a special, such as senior day, kids night, or dinner specials. You can tell the owners, and managers work hard to keep the place running smooth, you can see the owners helping out in the dinning room and kitchen when they need it. Most of the staff is from up north so they have the restaurant decorated with pictures of all the sights of the city, it is a cozy little place that reminds me of home. We will return many times and tell as many people that we can about this little slice of New York here in Florida. more

We have a pretty good variety of Italian Restaurants to choose from in our neighborhood and Anthony gets my vote for the best. We have eaten here about 9 times in the last 2 weeks and the food and service has been great! The garlic bread is wonderful. The bread is light and airy with just the right amount of seasoning. My favorite menu item is the Hot Italian Combo sandwich. The pizza is also very good. We like the crispy crust when we order the pie well done. Pros: Food Service Atmosphere more

i've been to anthony's many times. i've always enjoyed the food. they do get busy on the weekends, as does any good restaurant. you shouldn't hold a wait against any good restaurant. that should give you an idea on how good the pizza and food really is. i think anyone who would have anything bad to say about this place just does not have any patience. i can see them in the long lines at the grocery store... huffing and puffing and griping because there's only one lane open!! you should just stay home and order domino's. those who love good pizza will know that the pizza is well worth the wait. also, this is a family business. it's good to see the whole family involved in running the place. so what if they 'run their mouths' !! they are good people and deserve the support of the locals. i moved to the middle of nowhere. the only pizza i have the choice of getting is domino's. i miss anthony's food. i would love to have a slice of that awesome pizza... and couldn't care less to hear the 'stories' of the family... good for them!! i think that reviewer is probably a type A personality. i would recommend anthony's to anyone. I agree I called for a price on a pizza and the girl forgot I was on the phone so I hung up after waiting 4minutes. I also attended a communion recently at this location and the service was terrible. The layout of the tables was a disaster and the waitress are not that bright. more
