Animal Emergency & Treatment

My dog was hit by a car and unfortunately he was brought here because everyone else was closed. It was the worst and most traumatic thing my dog and my family went through.They take advantage of the fact that other vets are closed. I had my dog put to sleep and they could not wait more than five minutes to find out how i would pay. would not let us mourn,told me i need to borrow money or get a loan. I wanted to take his body,could but without his head,because he bit out of pain and he had his rabies vaccine.I went berserk and screamed at everyone there.I went into the exam rooms and told people to leave with their pets,because these people do not care. How can they.....they charge two or three times more because we HAVE to go to them.I am not really sure my dog had to be put down...they said he did not know who I was ,but he did.They said they'd have me arrested and I said please please do because i want the news media to know what you do ,then went out front and screamed at the top of my lungs,the police station was in the same strip mall,nobody came to arrest me.I do not understand why our vets don't open for emergency anymore.I'd rather pay more for that than go here again.If I could close them I would. more

Let's see $100.00 just to walk in the door, not to mention all the additional fees you'll incur for blood work and any other diagnostic test they can think of to charge you for. Seems like every time I've needed their services I end up with my pet coming home in ashes in a box. more

My dog had been vomiting & had loose bowels for about a week & antibiotics didn't work. Took her here for a $400 ultrasound. They found a cyst on her spleen & wanted to remove it so it did not burst & they would perform exploratory surgery at the same time. I was told it would cost approximately $1500-$2000 max, so I agreed & paid them. We scheduled surgery for later that week. They failed to tell me that their overnight 'ICU STAY' fees are an ADDITIONAL $500/day, PLUS medication costs, nurse fees, Dr fees, etc, until AFTER she came out of surgery. Being recently unemployed, I was not prepared for this, but wanted to do anything to help my little girl. The surgeon found a tumor obstructing her intestines that the Dr who performed the ultrasound did NOT find, so he removed it. However, now he said the surgery cost alone was just over $2800. The next day, I received a phone call stating that she needed an emergency blood transfusion & it needed to be performed immediately. I told them to do whatever they needed to help her, I already had a resuscitate order in place. They said they needed my authorization, it would be $183 & I needed to bring more money in. I was heading there to visit her anyways, but they told me the procedure would take 4 hours, so I should wait until later that day. I arrived there to visit 4 1/2 hours later with my Mom & to my horror, they hadn't even begun the transfusion. Because they did not follow through in a timely manner, my dog became septic & slowly filled with fluid. The night Dr was heartless about the whole situation. I couldn't understand how a staff member could plainly 'forget' about my dog. I pleaded with them to do anything to help her & save her life. The Dr knew they messed up but he said it was too late; she had no chance of surviving through the night. She died just after midnight. No one at GAETC would take responsibility for their ineptness & this mistake cost my best friend her life; not to mention $5000 out of pocket. AVOID THIS PLACE at all costs! more
