You're in for a Treat! 2/26/2010

I did not expect what I got when I ordered the Gourmet Chili Fries. First of all, there were so many options of chilli, Chicken Chilli, Beef Chilli, or Veggie Chilli. You can even choose the level of spiciness that you want. And OMG was the Beef chilli delicious! It had so much flavor, garlic, peppers, and lots of beef. Absolutely delicious on top of the fries and then topped with sharp cheddar cheese. And it was so abundant that I was able to share with 3 people. I would definitely recommend it! Pros: Great Food! Cons: Not Cheap! more

Great option 9/1/2009

I experienced Jinky's for the first time this morning...mere minutes ago, actually. Working on Sunset Strip and looking for a good breakfast can be a challenge. There's the staple, Duke's, but since they changed ownership recently, the menu has changed and my favorite items are missing. Anyway...back to Jinky's. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the Garden Scramble with the veggie chorizo. If I didn't know it was veggie...I wouldn't have been able to tell. It was flavorful but could have used a little more heat. Overall, the meal was excellent. I will definitely be trying Jinky's again...and VERY SOON...hhmmm, what's for lunch today? Pros: Menu variety more

Total Surprise! 5/25/2008

I didn't have high expectations for Jinky's, as it's located on the Sunset Strip, in a mini-mall under Sunset Tan, near a lot of overrated restaurants.\r \r Wow, was I wrong! My wife always orders and LOVES the Green and White Omelette. It's a super-healthy, egg white omelette with asparagus, broccoli, zucchini and feta. She always gets ripe, sliced tomatoes on the side, which never disappoint.\r \r I have tried the turkey chili, which is so so so good and some of their omelette options. Jinky's is perfect for brunch and the service is great too. Pros: Well-prepared, good food and generous portions Cons: Busy if you go late on weekends more

The best anti-strip eating experience on the Strip 8/22/2007

The only real complaint I have is that they close too early. Pros: Cheap, tasty lunch/breakfast & escape the Strip Cons: Not open for dinner! more

Tell Only Your Best Friends - Cheesy but True 6/18/2007

If there were more places like Jinky's, we wouldnt want to move out of LA. This place actually has soul and character and feels like it belongs in Austin or Ann Arbor instead of the cheeseball Sunset strip....to balance out this slip through the Strip's portal in to culture and taste, there is an opposite force across the street - the socialite bottomfeeder, glossy, shallowness of 944 magazine's corporate offices. Directly in your field of outdoor vision across Sunset, 944 brandishes garish self promoting windows that smirk at you while you enjoy a slice of quaint LA breakfast at Jinkys. (It's actually beset on all sides as there is a reality show on E! about the tanning salon above Jinkys, and just yesterday some aging early 30s Survivor contestants from a few years ago were sitting around talking loudly about ""marketing their next project"" and then left abruptly wondering ""Should we go to the beach?"")\r \r On the positive side, we regret even writing about Jinky's because it is healthy, clean, cool without trying to be, and somewhat of an open secret that we hope never turns in to a Toast or The Griddle.\r \r This place gets very quiet after 1 PM. You can pick any table you want then.\r \r Also, pets are welcome outside and they will even bring you a bowl of water for your dog. We like Jinkys. It should be on one of those TV shows about ""we live here"" and there are ""locals secrets"". Pros: Breakfast all day, no attitude Cons: Some delusional ex reality show people eat here and I hate those kind of people more

Leisurely Cafe 2/16/2007

A cafe with a laidback atmosphere tucked into the first story of a strip mall. For lunch try their crispy onion rings with one of their hot sandwiches (try the grilled chicken with mushroom and swiss) and for breakfast the French toast and sausages are top notch. Service can be slow, so don't go if you're in a rush. Pros: Friendly Staff, Large Portions Cons: Slow Service more

Nice little spot 2/7/2007

The atmosphere here was pretty chill and we got a good seat next to the window so we could watch people and cars pass by. The spinach in my quesadilla tasted a bit over-cooked, and I felt like we waited quite some time for our meal, but I was probably just hungry and cranky...and the good service made up for all my imaginary gripes. more

great chili and breakfast all day 11/20/2006

i like going to jinky's for weekend brunch b/c there's no wait, unlike a lot of places on 3rd, and you can eat outside where you are likely to see paparazzi chasing stars that go to the tanning salon in the mini mall. the chili's are all good, especially mixed with their breakfast dishes. i also recommend the crunchy french toast like the other reviewers. Pros: parking, no wait, hearty food, reasonable prices, outdoor seating more

good flaky french toast 10/9/2006

If you are going for the french toast it's worth it but everything else is just eh. Don't get me wrong the food isn't bad, it's just not outstanding. The only thing I think is worth going for is the flaky french toast! more
