Andiamo Lakefront Bistro

My husband and I, son and his girlfriend went to dinner last Friday nite...I was quite dissappointed at the smaller portions of food for the same high price! It even seemed like the glass of wine I received was smaller. We usually don't mind paying more for good food and good service! Our waitress was (I assume new) not experienced as she brought our dishes of food out one at a time. I've always enjoyed Andiamos Bistro for many years, but after Friday, it is no longer my favorite : (\r \r Pros: Great Tasting Food Cons: Smaller Portions----Not enough for the big appetite. more

Saturday night my husband and I were looking for a nice restaurant where we could enjoy a fine bottle of wine and some delicious food. We had this darling server, she reccommended the bottle of cabernet which we purchased and absolutely LOVED, she had an extensive knowledge about Celani wines, my husband and I were impressed. She also encouraged us to try some of the new items on the menu, I got the Filet mignon with portabella mushrooms and shrimp and my husband got a veal dish, everything was incridible. Since we had never dined there before, the manager came up to us during dinner and asked how everything was and made sure we were enjoying our night. She was very welcoming as well. SERVICE WAS GOOD, APPETIZER WAS GOOD, FETTUCINE ALFREDO WAS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN, RAGU MAKES A BETTER SAUCE. IT WAS SIMPLY $20 HARD EGG NOODLES IN SOUPY MILK. AVOID THIS DISH! more

First would like to state the we are Millie Grazie member. So we dine frequently, but not on this night. This past Wed my girlfriend, and I wanted to enjoy ourselves for her birthday. As we took our seats at the bar the bartender greeted us in a very timely fashion. Now the snow ball starts. We asked the bartender for their wine list, and on this night it was a ""select wine list""(which in short, it was mostly bad french wines along with wines that are trying to get rid of). After reviewing the list we dicided to make our choice between two. Well the bartender did not have any knowledge of either of them other then ""they seem to move"". She then quickly called over one of the waiters to give some knowledge on the select wines. So we made a choice, and had to wait to see if they had any left(which means someone had to go up stairs to look for our selection). Ten minutes later we needed to make a different choice. Ten minutes later we again had to make a different choice. So after looking the list over(in frustration) we decided to go else where. Here one thing that might have made it a little better. Next time maybe offer a similar bottle from the full list. Pros: Overall they have a good wine list Cons: Some of the wait staff need some knowledge of their menu/wine more

This is my first reviiew, got the site from a friend.We went on a tuesday, so we got a parking spot and a seat right away. The waitress was very nice and got our orders right and drinks within seconds. Food wasnt too fast, even though there were were only about 8 tables in there. Food was very good though. There were 3 different busboys walking by our tble every minute looking for something to take or something to do. It seems like the waitstaff are overagressive, with them checking up on you/interupting every minute, although they were polite about it. The building looks nic, there is a big fishtank and canal views. Besides a few issues, the rest was great. I would go again and see if my experience changes! more

The food was average for the price you paid. Wait staff was good. Busboy comes to the table to quick, practically take the dish while you are still eating. Don't leave anything at your table, they don't show very good hospitality and put your item up. I realized I left my glasses, went back in after only being gone 10 to 15 minutes. I've been to other Andiamo's but this one beats them all. We started out with two appetizers, steak tips in a zip sauce and the stuffed italian rice balls. Both were EXCELLENT. For dinner I had their Gnocchi (my favorite) and they were even better than my mom's so that should say a lot 'cuz her's were the BEST. From what I could tell, everyone else enjoyed their meals equally as well. We got there at about 8:30 on a Saturday night w/o reservations and had to wait approx. 15 minutes. Here is a restaurant that is a departure from its neighbors along the Nautical Mile. Where the others are loud and boisterous, Andiamo LB is quiet and serene. Our favorite meal here always starts with their seafood bisque soup. This is upscale comfort food. Entree favorites include their Prime Rib, tender, and a taste treat.
