The Scene
This popular course if often bustling, and it's easy to see why. Golf Digest has rated Ancil Hoffman one of the top public layouts in the country. Set in the middle of one of Sacramento's oldest suburbs, it has also been considered the city's finest public course for many years by the surrounding communities.
The Course
The course itself, built in 1965, is in the center of Ancil Hoffman Park, with views of the park's popular nature center and the American River. A jogging/walking trail, which circles around all 18 holes, means you often share the park's environment--yet the extra pedestrian traffic is usually quiet and respectful of players. The course also offers a clubhouse with full food and beverage service, a large golf shop, a practice range with natural turf tee, practice putting greens and a practice bunker.
