Lots of good things said 7/16/2005

Whenever I need a music CD I can't find anywhere, all my friends recommend Amoeba. It's pretty far away from where I live so I don't get the chance to go often, but when I do, I always manage to have fun looking at all the different CD's. My favorite section, of course, is the rap and hip hop. My advantage is that the people who usually go into Amoeba aren't usually into that kind of music (they're usually rock fans), so the rap CD's are sometimes priced lower than the others. It's a fun shop to browse! more

Great store 7/14/2005

I like this record store a lot. This is probably one of the best music stores in the Bay Area. There are tons of nice finds and great prices. Their records range from anything to everything! You can find old albums and new ones too. The employees are very good at finding stuff for you. It is so much fun to just go around looking at all their CDs and checking out new music. more

Great selection 7/14/2005

If you're into music that's hard to find, this is the perfect store for you. They have music I couldn't even find online. The staff isn't very helpful sometimes, but its not really a big problem since its so fun to browse on your own. My favorite thing about this place, however, is that you're allowed to bring you dog inside! Thats really important since you'll easily end up browsing for hours in here. more

Warehouse full of music 6/29/2005

This store is amazing for the dedicated music lover. Thousands of cds line the huge warehouse-feel of this store. Every genre can be found here, from soul to electronica to soundtracks. Amoeba has a huge inventory of used cds, and if you need to unload a few, you can exchange for money or store credit here. It can be a little overwhelming for the first time, though, so be prepared to look through thousands of cds. more
