I didn't have the nerve to write this review until I read Annamarie's response about how poorly she was treated by the Shriners organization.
A long time ago, my uncle Herbie was stationed overseas while he was in the Army.
My mom's mother got very sick and had double pneumonia. She eventually died in the hospital. My mom told me in those days, the family notified the American Red Cross to get the word to my uncle. That's the way it was done. Then he could have a leave from the Army to attend the funeral, if he wished.
That's all well and good, however, the Red Cross neglected to tell my uncle that his precious mother, Anna, was dead. As is the custom of the Jewish people, they must get the body in the ground within 24-48 hours. She was therefore buried without her only son in attendance and everyone talked about that for a very long time afterward. Eventually, the family themselves notified my uncle of his mother's death. My mom hated the Red Cross ever since then. So have I.
