We entered into a contract with Mr. Jay Baudot at American Home Security (AHS) for monitoring our home alarm system, the term was for 5 years. We switched over to (AHS) in approximately 2003 and in 2005 we swapped over to IP phones for the house. We were not aware that there was no mechanism to monitor the alarm, at that time, via VOIP. We contacted Mr. Baudot and asked for assistance or some way out of the contract. His response that we and he had signed the contract in good faith and his expectation was that we would abide by the remainder of the contract, In fact, I agree with that position and we did. What I don't agree with is continuing to draw funds from my account after we cancelled the contract. The first time he apologized, removed our account from billing and sent us a refund. The second time, almost one year after the contract expired and was not renewed we noticed that they were again pulling funds. We called again and it was not quite as pleasant. They refused to refund the money but did agree to turn off our account from billing AGAIN! The third time, this spring (2011) we noticed that AGAIN they were pulling funds, this several years after the contract expired. I stopped by his place of business to discuss this fraudulent billing and he was not there, I was able to get his cell phone however. I called Mr. Baudot that day and he was going to ?look into it? and get back with me. After a week I began calling him again. At this point he was no longer answering his cell phone when I called. After many attempts I left a final voice mail to let him know that I was going to be seeking other remedies to recover the money they had fraudulently billed me for via automatic payments.
Within a week I received a call from Melissa (her real name??), she apparently works for Mr. Baudot and he had instructed her to refund the money. I offered to send her the accounting of the dates and the amounts of the fraudulent withdrawals from my account and she said ?No, just give me the total amount? I complied. I gave her my mailing address and waited a week. No check. I called Melissa again and it seems she had ?forgotten? and would get it out to me that day. Waited a week, no check. At this point she would no longer answer my calls or return my calls, nor would Mr. Baudot. I believe I?ve been extraordinarily patient in this whole mess.
Today I received an e-mail from ADT (Mr. Baudot through AHS) monitors some ADT systems. It seems that ADT is recommending that monitoring be moved from AHS to ADT or to a new company that just happens to be owned by Mr. Baudot, it's called Communication Station INC and is located at 2760 Third Street in Slidell and it just so happens the phone number is the SAME! What a coincidence. It seems the stink was getting too bad at AHS and voila Communication Station INC was born. BE WARNED, DON?T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN OR ANY OF HIS COMPANIES!
