In my response to the above persons comment: First is that I have been an agent for just 3 1/2 years not 7 years so you need to get your facts straight! I dont know who you are as you did not leave your name. I have NO control over the rates we charge but if you had incidents on your MVR or at fault accidents then of course your rate would increase! Why should you pay the same rate as someone who has a clean record. I would have explained this to you but maybe you werent listening?? As far as your home goes..what does a loan officer know about Insurance?Nothing!! That was your first mistake as you should consult the experts.I doubt that your rate was 600.00 higher unless you have a bad credit score. A past due bill is sent when you dont pay your bill so maybe this is part of your issues. I can only cancel a policy with a signed authorization (to protect you) or maybe you just failed to notify my agency and now its all my fault. Sorry I cant help those who cant help themselves. After being insured with Barbara and AmFam for 7 years I never expected for my monthly auto insurance payment to skyrocket an additional $50 per month!! I am a low risk driver, as I haven't had a mark on my driving record in the past 6 years! Barbara was unable to tell me why my rate increased. Irritated, but still having good faith in my trusty Agent, I asked her for a homeowner's quote. It was my Mortgage Broker, Jerry, who brought it to my attention that Barbara's quote seemed too much for my home. Jerry then got me into contact with one of his Agent friends who was able to get my mortgage insurance for $600 less annually!! Also my monthly auto is now back to my good old days rate!!! Now my monthly auto and home is LESS than what Barbara charged me in auto alone. Oh yes, and I just got a PAST DUE bill from her because she had not canceled my policy, even though I called twice to ensure cancellation. What a NIGHTMARE. I do not recommend Barbara Mcginness!!! Pros: Sweet and friendly demeanor Cons: She will rip your face off!!!!! more
