Before shopping at Waikiki for all your souvenirs, go to the Aloha Stadium and find even better deals there! Aloha Stadium holds football games and other activities, but on Wed, Sat and Sun, the Swap Meet commences and there are tons of stuff you can buy. You can always haggle as much as you want because the tent 2 blocks down will sell the same thing for cheaper. It is hot during the day, so go early. It will be worth it because you'll save tons of money. more

A Tourist and Local Attraction 10/5/2005

Swamp Meet is still hanging in there is generating profit for our local people. It is still a good deal comparing to other boutiques selling tourist goods. The prices should remain fairly low because there is so much competition in there. Everytime I go, there is a new trend of items to be sold. I think since Waikiki's Duke's Lane is getting smaller and the International Market Place is being reconstructed, Swamp Meet is going to get more business in the future. I hope they are ready because I will also be going there more often. I always try to go early in the moring because it gest super hot during the afternoon. It's worth it though because you'll save a lot of money overall. more

Swap Meet: great for souvenir-hunting 9/21/2005

The Aloha Swap Meet is like the Hawaiian version of a flea market. It's held twice a week at the Aloha Stadium and costs a mere $.50 to get in. The abundance of items always amazes me... you can find most anything here for your friends and family on the mainland (if you're visting). There are booths upon booths of mass-produced and hand-made items, and when your tummy starts grumbling or you feel thirst coming on, there are malasadas and shave ice on the premises. The great thing about the Swap Meet is that instead of going to many stores downtown that sell marked-up souvenirs, you can pretty much find what you want/need in a centralized location, and for decent prices. more

Swap Meet Twice a Week 8/30/2005

Right now, the price is 50 cents and there is talk of raising it to $1, but it is worth it! Here you will find Hawaiian arts, souvenirs, and a few local foods. Shops range from t-shirts and shorts, home decor, oriental clothing, and jewelry. The prices are right for most items, with t-shirts selling at a lot price of 10 for $20! That is a deal! The handmade artwork is amazing...coconut and coconut postcards are favorites. Not to mention the sized for you Hawaiian jewelry! more

Bargain hunting for souveniers 8/10/2005

For .50 per person, you can find lots of good bargains at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. I work with kids and find that I can get shell leis and kukui nut leis in bulk very cheap here. Also, I bring my visitors here to pick up touristy souveniers. They can buy 10 t-shirts for $20 and other similar deals. For myself, I actually do sometimes find nice items for me and my home. There is one vendor who sells really nice jewelry and wall decor at reasonable prices. Tourists should check out the painted coconut postcards. You can mail a real postcard home! I usually do one lap around the stadium each time I go. I go early in the morning when it is still cooler and the shade is there. One lap takes me usually an hour as long as I don't browse too long. A lot of the shops are repeats, so don't bother with going to each place. The exercise of just walking the one lap around the stadium is worth it. more

Swap Meet 8/6/2005

The swap meet has an entrance fee of fifty cents. Inside you’ll find many vendors selling many touristy items. It is a great place to buy a souvenir representative of Hawaii at a good price. You can find many discount T-shirts and towels. A must visit if you have the time while you’re visiting. more

If you are visiting Hawaii, or live in Hawaii & need to take a lot of gifts to mainland friends, then check out the Swap Meet at the Aloha Stadium. You can find tons of fun stuff. It costs 50 cents to get in. Don't bother circling the whole stadium, many of the offered goods repeat after a while.
