I've purchased or sought to purchase 5 items from this local retailer. I am new to the area since 2009. Hence I was not born or raised here. The first item was 2 X 2 X 8 foot lumber. I was charged $3.64 2 X the normal price. The second item was 3 inch wood screws. The price on the box was 35 cents. I was charged 72 cents. The third item was floor joist hangers - I told the proprietor Home Depot sells them for $1.04 each. With that conversation he charged me $1.10 each. The forth item was 12 X 12 shelf hangers. The price was on each item and I was correctly charged. The final item was a 4 inch diameter 10 foot PVC pipe. Home Depot sell the item for $16.44. The clerk sought to charge me $29.00. I left without the item and purchased it at Home Depot. We built a house purchasing lumber, windows, doors, roofing, connectors (nails...) spending more than $28,000 just not at Allen's S&T Hardware Inc.
