We had our roof recently replaced by Allen Roofing this summer 2012. From the beginning it was a disaster! First of all we were not told that we had a choice of out-sourcing the job to immigrants, or keeping it local with Union roofers. Once all the workers arrived in their un-marked vehicles, the job went down hill from there. The crew failed to bring adequate equipment - ex. an electric generator, instead of gas for the nail gun, in which we had to provide the power for. The generator blew our circuit breaker 3 times and finally fried the wiring in our garage. At that point the job stopped so they could find a gas powered generator. In the meantime, we had to provide brooms for them to try and clean up their mess. Instead of waiting for the proper generator to arrive, they decided to start hand nailing the shingles down. The 1 day job turned into a 2 day job with a very late start the 2nd day and without a Foreman present. In the end, we were left with burn marks and oil spots on newly sodded grass, over 20 rusty nails found all over - some of which were picked up by my 2 year old niece and stepped on by my 2 dogs! There were a couple of other items, but by this time, I hope someone gets the point. When we tried talking to Allen Roofing about this, they acted as if its not a big deal - on their website it states ""If it's not right, we'll make ir right"" - I would call that False Advertising!
