All Pets Hospital -- Great For Dogs 4/25/2011

This is a great place to bring the dogs for routine shots and check-ups. However, because they're so popular, even during open hours, they are hard to get into if you have an emergency. Location is great and parking easy. You wouldn't think a vet by the overpass would be all that impressive, but it is. more

Nickel and Dime you to Death! 10/27/2008

This place is a racket - you come in for one thing and they charge for for 10 other things. I had to leave my cat the night because I work in the evenings and what started as a ridiculous $21.00 charge just to be there for the afternoon (if I could have come back to pick him up) ballooned to $60.00 because they added a unnecessary 'exam' fee for in the morning (28.00) and overnight stay (28.00). And $120.00 dollars for a 'just to check things out' bloodtest work-up? I would cost less for me to have mine done at Kaiser. This place charges you for every little thing -- another line item was 50.00 - 100.00 charge for misc food, medicine (not specified) and a E-Collar - so I spend $400.00 bucks and they cant give my cat a little food and water or even stay the night? what a scam - I'm never going back here. Cons: misc. charges, charge for food/stay more

Life Threatening Wrong Diagnosis 11/26/2007

Be very cautious, please "your pet is your baby"\r We had a kitty, that recently passed away afflicted with cancer, and we are now left with our doggy, who has been our companion for many years. Not to long ago he started coughing and we did not know what to do. At first, we thought that he had something cough in his throat. He would eat and drink and yet he would cough. A couple of days of the coughing we brought him over to All Pets Hospital. They practically kicked us out telling us that he had Kennel Cough. They gave us a prescription and practically told us to get out and not come back until he was better. Well, a couple of weeks after the medication our dog is still coughing. Not knowing what to do, we brought him again. Well the staff was rude and unkind-they told us that they would give him a slight sedative to ease him because he was tense. We said, please do not sedate him, because he is an old dog and the last time he was sedated, we almost lost him. We worry, ter more

Dr. Herman is great 10/19/2007

This place is great. I took my previous dog and now current dog to All Pets. I have throughout my time there seen two of the doctors, but I recommend Dr. Herman. She is great with animals (She is often sitting on the floor with my dog) and really cares. Also I never feel as if I am being taken for extra medical expenses when I am there. I moved out of the city for 3 years and used 2 different vets, neither that I was happy with. I kept comparing them to Dr. Herman. I always felt like these other vets always wanted to add on more tests or X rays, for issues that never ended up being anything. I felt that these vets"guilted " me into more expensive procedures. "The reason your dog is throwing up might be.... and then she will DIE". I have never left All Pets unhappy with my service. Also they work with small and exotic pets, not just cats and dogs. Pros: caring staff, knowledgeable, not overpriced Cons: Dr. Herman only works mon-wed more

By Client of 8 years _Excellent Care 5/2/2006

I have been a client of All Pets for 8 years. My lab has had everything done here from simple shots to getting sewed up after some bad accidents and they have always provided excellent care. I have used Dr Herman and Hershberger and they are very attentive, knowledgeable and really care about your pet. They have an online phramacy and all the doctor's bios at aphsf.com PROS: Service, Knowledge and they care CONS: more

Find another office. Allpets is spotty. 4/14/2006

I've had several mediocre to poor experiences here and finally decided to trust our instincts and find another vet. Some of the vets and staff are fine but others are condescending and defensive. They've had trouble explaining when to administer medicince, preventing a kitten from tearing out stitches after being spayed, and collecting a urine sample after four attempts and multiple administations of subcutaneous fluids. more

great establishment 2/13/2006

very satisfied with all pets! They are very sincere, caring people who seem to geniunely care about their patients. I will definately continue to take my kitty there. Thanks All pets!!! Pros: not pushy, good at following up, parking available more

Dr. Herman is awesome! 11/29/2005

Great doctors, great follow-up. The puppy vacination plan is a great deal. Love it! more

Well beyond my expectations! 11/29/2005

This place is fantastic! My dog had a serious health problem one night and I had to get help quickly. I called 15 minutes after their offices had closed, and luckily, someone answered the phone. They let me come in (by the time I got there it had been officially closed for almost 45 minutes) and they got their entire remaining staff helping out my precious puppy! They got the dog back out and in my house within 2 days and she has been in great health since. Just a super place! PROS: Awesome staff and service CONS: NONE! more

Great veterinary clinic! 8/16/2005

When I lived in the City, I took my cat here for years. Dr. Hershberger and Dr. Herman are both kind and gentle with the pets. If I hadn't moved to the East Bay, I wouldn't have left this clinic. PROS: Great staff, great service, great vets! CONS: A little out of the way of residential neighborhoods, but worth it. more

Bring your pets here 7/12/2005

This is a very good vet clinic in the city. I first went here with my cat Amos, and received excellent check-up care. They were very gentle with him, as he was a scaredy cat, and made him feel calm. Dr. Hershberger shares the clinic with Dr. Alex Herman, and I prefered Dr. Herman, but both are very knowledgable and the staff are great with animals too. PROS: CONS: it is kinda out of the way from most residential areas, on S. Van Ness. more

Great service from everyone! 6/28/2005

I highly recommend this clinic. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Both vets are wonderful with animals. If we hadn't left San Francisco, we'd still be going there. more
