This salon does exist. New owners took over in 2008 and it is a great place to go and get great service for all your hair needs. The staff is very warm, friendly and very talented! On top of all that you leave looking GREAT!!! more

I'd been getting cuts everywhere, from cheapie barber shops to upscale manhattan salons, and my last cut before this was at Christie's, also in Bayside. I liked Christie's, but it got expensive, so when I saw a fliier on my car for $25 harcuts for new clients here, I jumped at the chance. BIG MISTAKE. I was a walk-in, and they told me to come back in a few hours, since they only had 1 person working there (this should've been my first clue the place is bad). I came back and the staff was nice, but I'd asked for the lady to cut layers into my hair, which is what I always had. I just asked for a trim. I also requested nicole Richie bangs. i got the worst 80's feathered, lopsided cut in my life. I didn't realize how bad it was til the next day when I washed the massive amounts of styling product out. \r \r I am now wearing my hair pinned back, and unless I cut it a lot, it can only be worn this way. II am so upset... my hair takes so long to grow, and it's now a disaster. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Pros: It was quiet Cons: Everything else sucked more

THIS WAS THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. SUSIE YOU ARE INCREDIBLE I LOVE MY COLOR AND MY CUT AND STYLE. I WILL BE BACK AND I AM RECOMENDING EVERYONE TO YOU. THIS GIRL DOES COLOR CUTS, PERMANANT MAKEUP WHICH I AM GOING TO DO IN SEPTEMBER , PERMAMANT EYELASHES(ALSO GETTING) AND TATOO'S. SHE IS INCREDIBLY TALENTED. I have been a customer for this salon for the past 2 years. Although the staff here is great I recommend that anyone that goes here to make sure you dont have the guy that works there doing ANYTHING to your hair. Hi, I walked into the salon today to see If you were back from Maternity Leave. I was told by the lady there that you moved to Florida. She told me Kara left 3 months ago. I'm sorry that you're no longer there, my boyfriend and I were both impressed with our haircuts, I actually waited months to get my haircut again so that it would be done right. Good Luck, when you were there we always got our moneys worth. My recommendation is from when Theresa was working there, cannot comment on haircutters now. more

Kara was the main talent in that shop. I just hope that she would inform her clients regarding her new place of employment so we can extend to her our patronage. This IS kara...I am writing a review in response to the last review. I do not bad mouth you Teresa, therefore there is no need to write a review about me under another one of your pseudo-names. It's fine that you are upset with me that I left. It wasn't enough that I ran your salon for you, because you didn't care about it, but it was how I paid my rent, not the toy you thought it was. You can bad mouth me all you want, but karma is what it is. I left merely because I was unhappy, nothing personal. Had you been more present, you wouldn't be in the situation you are in now. You don't have to write fake reviews about me, my clients are happy, and my goal is to keep it that way. That should have been your goal too. I wish you luck and success in the future. I don't know why everyone is so worried about Kara. She did my hair once. I got color and a cut. She was okay, but really nothing to brag about. I was under the impression she was just a junior stylist. \r When I called back, i was given to Rose. She did my cut. I LOVED IT. i am going back for color. Kara who???? I went there a couple months ago because I saw all the ""Highly Recommended"" reviews so I thought I'd give it a shot. The top stylist there was on maternity leave so I opted for Kara. She was very pleasant and helpful on how she should go about the style of cut (I brought a sample picture in). Afterwards, I was kinda borderline dissapointed with the cut. It just felt like she gave me a trim and not a super nice haircut. Maybe if I had the courage I'd go back there again and give it another shot, but till then, I'll keep looking for another hair stylist that suits my needs. I have lived in Bayside for many years. I have been to just about every salon in search of a stylist/colorist that listened to me, but also advised me, and guided me in the right direction. I was never happy with the ""factory salon"" in Bay Terrace (for those of you that live in the area, you know what I am referring to), nor was I happy with the a few of the salons on Bell Boulevard. A friend of mine has been seeing Kara for a few years to have her highlights done and her hair cut and I decided that since I was unhappy with my hair (I have been doing it myself for a while), I would let Kara take a shot at it. I can honestly tell you that I have never been so pleased in my life. She is such a doll, she listened, she talked with me, looked through pictures and just dedicated the time to me that no stylist ever has. She truly is very talented. She colored me back to my natural color (haven't seen it in a while!!) and did a full head of highlight and lowlights. She cut and styled my hair to where I could manage it and style it at home. I had a great time, just relaxing and leaving more beautiful than I have felt in years! Thanks for making me over!!! Pros: kara's magic hands! Cons: None! more

WOW, great staff, awesome space, what a fab vibe. Evolution has got to have the best most talented girls ever. My hair always looks perfect, I always get complimented on it . There is nothing these girls cant do. Plus its cool just to hang out there after your done chit chat with the girlies. Love this place!!! more

Being able to tell a hair stylist what you like in a haircut and then have her execute it exactly as you describe is all I ever wanted when i go and cut my hair. I am picky, because I don't like color and my hair is very dark, so an interesting style that is manageable is all I really want. And Evolution Salon delivered. I was relieved to have found Evolution Salon after just recently moving to the area. Marissa did a fantastic job with my cut and color and she worked really well with curly hair. On top of it all, I got it done for a much more affordable price than other NYC salons. more

My sister had decided I needed a change, so she sent me over to the girls at Evolution. Teresa did my haircut and color. I love it. We spoke for about 30 min. before she began. The cut we picked out , i would have never thought would look so good on me. My new blonde hair looks great. What a nice place to go, and very funny! The girls had me rolling the whole time I was there. more
