Amazing! I loved everything I ordered. The pecan crusted chicken salad was packed with flavor. It wasn't your typical salad the flavor of the pineapple, chicken and cranberries was perfect combination. I would definitely order from this place again. more

We love this place! The food is delicious, particularly the Herb Chicken Cibatta and the short-rib ravioli, but everything is good. We have yet to be disappointed. more

Very good! Had saganaki, spinach pie (spanakopita) & lemon potatoes. The lemon potatoes were cooked perfectly, so delicious. Saganaki was good, but not as great as when it's fresh at the restaurant. The spanakopita was good, but the pastry part was mushy and wet because they wrapped it in a bag rather than in a food dish. Other than that, it was great! Will definitely order again. more

I love this place. This is definitely my favorite greek salad and spinach pie that I have found so far since I have moved to Astoria a year ago. Delivery was much faster than the estimated time that was given and it was hot when it arrived. Awesome :-) more

Happy Stomach = Happy Customer! 4/18/2011

I just moved to the neighborhood from Manhattan and having any restaurant at your disposal is defintely hard to compete with, but Aliada seems to be making up for that. My partner and I just love their Salads, and their hummus is absolutely to die for...We ended up just walking in one night and now it has become one of our top picks to either go in and eat or order from!!! The waitress can learn to smile a little, but other than that our stomachs seem to be VERY pleased!!! The owner or manager with the mustache is not that bad either, he ended up giving us dessert on the house and introducing us to his wife... more

Just moved to the area and have enjoyed the decor, ambience, and food (not very flavorful though) with good wine selection. The service, however, is terrible... beginning with the waitress who always stands at the door with a frown, blocking diners from entering. more

Place is overrated!! 3/22/2010

I am Greek so I can say I know a thing or 2 about Greek food. Well from my experience from Stamatis I can say that it is not the best Greek food. I ordered mousaka and it was cooked in heavy oil that seemed like it might have been old and my friend ordered the biftekia which were absolutely disgusting. They're food made me feel sick. I would not recommend going there for good Greek food plus it is always packed and there is a long waiting time on some night, which I have to say its not worth the wait. more

Fantastic brunch! 2/28/2010

great food, great brunch deal! I've had several things on the menu, and I've never had anything bad. ther service is usually quick and the food is much more upscale than any diner I've ever been to. Highly recommended! Pros: great pancakes, french toast Cons: gets crowded on the weekends more

Worst Place! 12/20/2009

Worst service and food!! If you not Greek-don’t go there!! I have disregarded the bad reviews they received for the month of December and I did wrong. Let’s go into it: Our friend invited us to this place listening to one of her Greek buddies that recommended this restaurant. The server could not recommend much so we had to go with our assumption that it would taste good. They do not have a liquor license so I called before going there and made sure about that. We really wanted to enjoy a Jack Daniels before our meal so I brought a small bottle (375 ml) for the 6 of us and I asked the server if that would be possible to do. He went back and asked management and told us that they would charge us $ 6.00 as fee. We agreed and then they got us the 6 glasses but did not serve the liquor for us. The appetizers came out one of a time and were cold (even the “warm” ones) but we were still ok until I decided to tell my server that I will go with the Rib eye stating “ you can’t go wrong with a steak”. I was so wrong! Everybody’s meal came out with the exception of the “medium” rib eye. It was well done and dried out so I decided to ask my server to bring me another one. After he took it back, he returned real quickly and the steak was all cut in small pieces. He mentioned that the “chef” send it back to me to proof that it was “medium “cooked. The parts next to the bone were “pink” but 90 % of my steak was really well done cooked. I told him to take it away and that I would not eat anything else and I have lost my appetite. When you are paying $20.00 for a 16 oz Rib Eye (bone in) and another $ 5.00 for the side dish in a restaurant that only sells 1 white wine and 1 red wine and then they burn it for you and even fight with you, you really lose your appetite. Then I asked the server if I could talk to the owner but he mentioned that the owner does not speak English. You could imagine my frustration. Later I asked him if there is a manager in the building and he said “yes” with nonchalance that would piss anybody off. I requested the manager’s presence and she came but when I explained what happened, she apologized but never offered to make me another steak only saying that she would like me to return and then she would “take care of me”. Obviously she was more concern that I would not return instead of making sure that my experience at that point would be repaired. The evening ended by all other having their meal with the exception of me! I would never return there. This is perfect way of destroying you Sunday evening. Pros: None! Cons: Bad service and food! more

Favorite spot in the neighborhood 6/26/2009

Since moving the Astoria, my fiance and I have been going to Sanfords a few times a month. It is our go-to place to bring family and friends, as their diverse menu has something for everyone (including vegetarians, which is a pet peeve of mine). The brunch is excellent (crab cakes benedict and I are best friends) and the dinner menu offers both sandwiches and paninis ($9-$12 w/ soup or salad- get their honey balsamic dressing!) or more upscale pastas, steaks and other entrees ($12-20). We like the restaurant so much, we are having them cater our wedding! Pros: Delicious, upscale without the trip or cost of manhattan more

I like my neighborhood Aliada's! 6/21/2009

I've been going to Aliada's for the past five years. I treat this place as a tapas bar. Forget the entrees (which are good), just fill your table up with apps, apps and more apps! Get my favorite salads (Horiatiki) and drizzle their extra virgin & red wine vinegar to your liking and then fill your table with their wonderful wide assortments of apps! The assorted dip plate, Lountza and grilled calamari and if you're into off-beat dishes, try the buttery Glikadakia! Yes, this restaurant has its ups-and-downs but for the most part, they are consistently delicious! Pros: Wonderful assortment of appetizers Cons: Would like even MORE appetizers more
