SO VERY GLAD IT'S BACK! 2/9/2012

This restaurant re-opened in June 2011, and has been packed ever since. A favorite haunt of mine for at least a decade, I was heartbroken when it closed sometime in late 2010 due to a family issue. From what I understand, former co-workers got together, bought the business, and re-hired most of the pre-existing staff back again...including their master-margarita-maker...and re-opened to patient and loving fans!! (ask anyone there, and they will tell the name of the man who makes their Classic Margarita and how long he has been making them!) Simply the BEST, smoothest Margaritas' in town, good comfort Mexican food, and the prices are still very nice and family friendly! Go with family and friends and enjoy a Burbank Mexican tradition! more

GONE 3/9/2011

Another great restaurant in Burbank, Ca closed? What is going on here? more

I think someone was burning the beans! 2/2/2009

Drove by many times and saw a crowded parking lot. Having a taste for good Mexican food, we decided to give this place a try. We were seated towards the rear of the restaurant and it seemed a bit smoky, somebody's food must have been burning in the kitchen, maybe the beans. Between the smoke and fumes, it really made it hard to enjoy the meal (very basic food) smelling that through most of the time we were there. We found the menu limited with very few Mexican speciality dishes, offering more of things like the basic tacos and such. Overall, we found Granada rather unimpressive and unsatisfying especially the Sunday brunch. Only a few basic plates to choose from so we will probably not go back again, twice was enough. Pros: Cute place Cons: Everything else. more

Awesome tacos and margaritas! 7/30/2008

I love this place. We decided to stop in after simply driving by and I'm so glad we did. They have the best tacos and their margaritas are AWESOME, and really affordable too. The food is not hardcore mexican food, but really, if you're looking for some hardcore authentic stuff, you should just be making that on your own I think! The food is good, everything is really generously proportioned, and the only drawback is that they can get a little heavy with the red sauce. But in every respect, this is a very chill, cool place for some good eats and good drinks! Pros: GREAT Margaritas Cons: way too much paprika/red sauce on some dishes more

haven't had a bad meal yet 4/26/2008

I have been going for years. It is not authentic but it is good mexican/american food. They also have good margaritas. :) Pros: food and service Cons: parking more

Fine Mexican Food?? 10/20/2007

Fine Mexican food? compared to what? The food they serve here couldn't be more basic or bland. This is definitely Mexican "style" food for those Americans that don't really like good Mexican food! It really is a mystery why some people fall into what they must feel is a comfort zone with the one and only restaurant they may have tried for a specific style food, when in this day and age there are so many choices you can make. The food they serve here is your basic American style Mexican food like tacos, enchiladas, burritos etc. with the the typical refried beans. Your basic combo plates of these items. I have given this place 3 chances, the first time out of curosity, the other two times by mistake, I never should have gone back. I guess if your occaisional indulgence in Mexican food involves some place like Taco Bell or Del Taco, then go for it, but there are much better choices in Burbank then Granada for Mexican food that falls into the "Fine" or "Authentic" catagories. Pros: Mexican decor and style building Cons: Bland Basic Mexican food for the "Gringos" more

Great authentic food 7/30/2007

Great service, good food. The parking lot is on the small side but if you can get a spot, it'll be worth it. I especially love the huevos rancheros. Enjoy! more

a sell out ! 9/23/2006

this place use to be good but now the food has become very bland with no flavor or spice. what happened?. now you have to cater to the people who can't take spicy food more

This is the place for home style Mexican food! 7/7/2005

Great food, great prices, awesome margaritas - if you like them strong! This is home style Mexican food like mama used to make. Very good service. Don't go by the gringo reviews, this place is comfortable and good Mexican comfort food. No fake-o Cali cusine, just the good stuff. Great for families and daters. Pros: Delicious food/drinks, comfortable atmospher, polite waitstaff Cons: can be really busy more

Ehhhh 10/17/2003

Finding ourselves in the valley before a concert, and not having much luck finding some place to eat, we decided to stop here. The promised "fine" Mexican food was nowhere to be found. After waiting forever for our hostess to appear, she tried to seat us in the freezing and extremely loud room next to the bar. We kindly requested one of the booths in the quieter room and ordered our drinks. The menu was extensive, but everything seemed like your average "Mexican" type food. While our margaritas, chips and salsa were quite good, the rest of the meal was disappointing. Chris' combination plate was merely adequate, even by mexican-american standards, and Rich's Colorado burrito was very plain and drenched in too much cheese. While the decor was kind of cool, and the prices are very reasonable, we have no reason to ever come here again. Pros: inexpensive, decor more

You can do way better than this! 3/15/2003

I've eaten here more than once. The times I went back, I remembered why I told myself not to go again. Their menu is very basic with few choices. I am married to a Mexican women (from Mexico) with a large Mexican family. Granada's food is not that good. Most Mexican restaurants offer a choice of beans for those who don't care for the mashed re-fried ones, they don't. If you like basic foods like enchaladas, tacos, and a few dinner offerings then have at it but if you want great food, great selection, great service, do yourself a favor and try Don Cuco's, then you'll see why I say what I do. Pros: Mexican decor Cons: Poor menu variety, very basic offerings, only average taste more

Yummy food! 12/5/2002

The food is reasonaly price and very good. Anything with carnitas is an excellent choice. The salsa is also very tasty and home-made. Pros: Inexpensive more
