RUDE BARTENDER 3/19/2012

We stopped in for a drink. It was a bit loud, but not too bad. It seemed like a nice place until I had to deal with the bartender. She miss heard what I ordered and thought I asked for two beers. When I told her I only ordered one she got angry and told me that I should have ordered correctly. I was not rude to her when I told her she was wrong. Not sure where the attitude came from and it was totally not called for. There are lots of bars in the city and there is no reason to go someplace where they yell at you for something they did wrong. NOT GOING BACK!! more

The Worst Wings 2/6/2010

Those were the worst wings I've ever had in my entire life. They tasted like they had been sitting back there for an hour before they re-heated them in watery sauce and served them to me. If they were hot and fresh, they would have been good. But they were cold and were as tough as leather. Beware. There are many other places to get great wings! Pros: Guinness on Tap Cons: The Mandatory ID Machine Swipe at the Door more

** 10 cents WINGS ** 1/11/2010

I come here a few times a month with friends to grab their 10 cents wings and cheap but good draft beers. Most nights they will have a $4 dollar draft on special. Great and friendly staff as well! Get here early because it gets packed. Pros: Good wings and Beer more

+!! 5/6/2009

It's a bit of a pain that they don't take any of the of credit/debit cards. I stick to the drafts because their bottle selection is a bit warm for my taste. Other than that, it's a good place with good staff. I also like the fact that the music isn't so loud that you have to yell to have a conversation. Pros: Beer selection and good wings Cons: AmEx only and warm bottles. more

So Many Beers On Tap!!!!!!!!!!! 1/21/2009

This place has more beers on tap then you will ever try in your life. They are known for their wings and have great specials all week. They have a couple of really cute waitresses and they are all very friendly. Great place to watch a game, hang out with some buddies and just chill. Pros: Lots of beer on Tap, Good Wings, Hot Waitresses, Great Specials Cons: Place is tiny and gets packed quickly more

Great Wings Night and Beer Selection 7/28/2008

Great wings night on Wednesdays. Only 10 cents a wing, but there is a drink miniumum of $6 I believe. Great beer selection. They have Hoegaarden, what more can you say? Great place to have fun with your friends. Pros: Great wings on the cheap. Great beer selection Cons: Long Lines. more

The waitress.... 12/17/2007

That review is retarded. The waitress at Croxley's is easily the hottest chick in the area. She has that look as though she just rolls out of bed looking beautiful. It sounds to me like that post was written by some jealous fat girl. C'mon, the reviewers name is Iluvfood777 and she even admits that, ""We thought about waiting around for management, but we were so hungry we left."" Something tells me this isn't the first time she's been rejected from a nyc night spot. Hmmm, whose really angry and bitter??? more

Good times, good times. 7/4/2007

The wings are a bit dry, but decent. It's too crowded on the 10c/20c days. Great selection of beers. The mozzarella sticks are not the usual style, but really good nonetheless. Definitely a good place to hang with some friends on a weeknight. Pros: mozz sticks and wings!! Cons: kinda dark? more

Great for 10 cent wing night! 6/7/2007

I was a little scared with all the reviews posted on this site regarding service and quality of food but it was actually quite good! I have to say that the wings taste much better when it's pipin' hot and you lose interest in 'em when it cools off a bit. They regularly cleaned out our bone bowls and had relatively decent service. Because it's so busy on 10 cent wing night, they won't seat your party unless they're all there. I tried to get a table for 5 but since only 3 of us were there, they could only give us a table for 4. They have a really long list of int'l beer - bottled and draft. Pros: 10 cent wing night, wide selection of beer Cons: Crowded, 1 bathroom, not good for groups more than 4 people more

WORST STAFF EVER - DO NOT GO. BEWARE OF SKINNY, OLD, PALE BLACK-HAIRED HOSTESS/WAITRESS 5/23/2007

We all went to Croxley on 10 cent wing night. Unfortunately one of my friends did not have her ID with her, but she had all her work IDs and happens to be older than anyone else in our group! My friend did not intend to drink in the first place, but she was told she was not allowed to dine there. The hostess (skinny, ugly, pale, black haired girl who is probably in her 30s but looks 40) WOULD NOT let her eat there. We look around and there are KIDS there with their families!! She claims it's OK because the kid will not get a drink. This is ridiculous - never have we been turned down from a bar/restaurant JUST to eat unless it was after 9-10 pm. We arrived at 6pm!! Furthermore, the hostess just LIKED to argue and talk back - clearly she is an angry, bitter person. We thought about waiting around for management, but we were so hungry we left. Outside we talked to a couple people who worked at the fitness place next to Croxley's and they all told us most of the folks who work there are a**holes! how right they are! I don't care how good those wings might be...if the service is horrible i'm not hungry. Pros: wings smelled good but i dont know how they taste....hmmmm Cons: the black headed, pasty-white hostess more

gross 5/1/2007

I got really sick from this place, and had to miss work for 2 days. I guess meat for 10 cents isn't such a great deal after all. more

Great Wings & Beer, Slow Service 2/12/2007

You can't beat the $0.10 wing deal on Monday and Wednesday. Problem was that they only give you one tiny container of blue cheese for 20 wings and charge you for any additional blue cheese. carrots and celery also costs extra. Can't complain about the price, although it would have been nice to know these things cost extra. Huge selection of beers. Service was slow and inattentive. more

Best burgers, great wings 9/6/2006

Went on Wed $0.10 wing night with a large group and had a great time. They have one of the BEST burgers I've had in this city, *properly* done with a brioche roll. I had McSorleys with the turkey burger and perfectly crispy and salty/sweet sweet potato fries. Never been a huge wings fan but they were also very good. Beer selection was extensive and well-priced. Service was as attentive as possible in spite of their being busy and crowded. Fantastic chill neighboorhood place, will definitely be back. Pros: wing/beer specials, brioche roll burgers more

BEER AND WINGS 9/5/2006

I've been to this place once, when they were having their 10cent wing night. The place so so packed that my friend and I couldn't move. We waited about ten minutes to get a seat at the bar. Other than that, the food was AWESOME and inexpensive. The service behind the counter was really good. I don't know about the table waiters though. I would definately go back, if I'm in the area. Pros: 10 cent wings, cheap and good food Cons: too croweded on 10cent wing nights more

Decent 4/12/2006

Ive only gone to this place on Wednesday when they have the 10cent deal on the wings. Its definitely a great deal and the wings are one of the best Ive tasted yet. Everytime that Ive gone, Ive gotten my food promptly. The only thing I can complain about is the service, a couple of the waitresses are awful. They take their time to bring you your drinks as well as to give you the check when you've requested it, we even had an experience where the waitress didnt return back the change...we had to ask for it, and when we did she got an attitude. We weren't going to nix her on her tip as she might have thought, we were just going to add a couple of extra bucks. All in all, I would just recommend going there for the food and forget about getting great service. Pros: Buffalo Wings, Prompt Seating, Outdoor Garden Cons: Service, Attitude more

I gave this place 3 too many chances 9/19/2005

I don't know why I kept agreeing to go here, maybe its the promise of ten cent chicken wings, maybe its the beautiful garden area, but I have finally learned my lesson. This place is awful! It is mostly based on the service I admit. I have been to this place three times and the service/management keeps getting worse. This last time I almost got into a fight with the waitress. She refused to get me a drink after I went to the bar to get a different round. This was after waiting for her slow a-s to get to our table. They might need more help, but also anouther time I went there at an off-hour and I was seated at one of the only tables there, and my food, which I ordered after my drinks, arrived before the afore-mentioned drinks. I could go on and on. Pros: Beautiful Outside Cons: Service, Service, Service more

WORST PLACE EVER! 9/12/2005

Was convinced to go there for a 3rd time because of the great big outdoor area and huge screen for a game. I will never go back. The service is unfriendly and totally incompetent. We were served unopened bottles of beer and had to wait for 10 minutes with our unopened beers in front of us. They wouldn't change one of the TVs that nobody was watching (seemingly to show their importance as being in control of the bar). Other simple requests were ignored. The staff acts like they are doing you a favor to be there. And they are easily the slowest human beings on the planet. The food isn't even that good. There is no reason to go here. Pros: Outdoor space, Big TV Cons: Service, Staff, Not fun more

WORST MANAGEMENT / SERVICE EVER! 9/8/2005

This place has so much potential - Especially considering the outside deck/tent which has some nice tables and a big-screen TV for sporting events. Seems like the perfect venue to watch a game on a nice night. However, and please take this literally..this place has the worst service that I have ever witnessed. I am generally not a harsh critic, but I have been to this place three times in the past year, and each time all of the people in my party were astonished at how terrible/angry/rude the service was. The first time I entered this bar, I remember thinking ""Wow, what a great sports bar - Im gonna come here all the time."" After three awful experiences - I will never go again. Pros: Outside Deck Cons: SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE more

This is what the East Village is like now 6/30/2005

When Croxley Ales opened up more than a year ago, I said, ""A sports bar? That is so not the East Village."" Turns out I was wrong. It is very much a symptom of what the East Village has become--a neighborhood of meatheads and jocks who feel that the neighborhood is their own personal playground. If wide-screen TVs and hot wings are your fare, then put on your college sweatshirt, flip your baseball cap to rally mode and pump your fist in the air, because everyone at Croxley Ales knows your name, Chip. I can't wait for the Hooters to open up where Charas used to be. more

Great Bar for everyone 5/15/2005

I like this place and so does my wife. Good drinks and beers with affordable menu offering. Garden is fantastic. service was plesant and mannered. They were a little slow due to the crowds on the weekend. Pros: Beer, Food, Garden Cons: Service speed more
