We had a death in the family and had to arrange a quick trip from Maine to Greenville, South Carolina. Alamo has consistently given us great service and value so I made a reservation 3 days before the flight. The reservation process was seamless at the Alamo website, I tend not to use sites like Expedia or Kayak anymore because I get a better deal directly from Alamo. The airport pickup is as easy as walking out the main terminal, across the street and down a flight of stairs. Counter people were professional and I was in my car within 20 minutes of walking off the plane. Car was fine for the 3 days. Rental return was painless, just dropped the keys in a drop box. Overall, the experience was a 9 out of 10. That said, my daughter also rented an Alamo car when she flew in from Montana. She picked up a screw in her tire and the phone calls, unsatisfied customer service interactions, and multiple trips to a local gas station to fill up her leaking tire left her feeling like she was left to her own devices. Options were to find someone to put on the small donut wheel, find a repair shop to fix the flat (hard to do on a weekend), drive back to the airport and have them repair it during daytime hours and miss the funeral. It would be nice for Alamo to contract out for Roadside Assistance to help in situations like this. She was not very impressed with Alamo customer service. Also, there was nothing on their website or in the written contract to provide guidance about options when you've got a flat or leaking tire. Just saying....
