Terrible, Slow Service. Will Never Go Back. 10/15/2012

This place is terrible. I'm a local and was so happy to find an Agway nearby. We visit this store regularly to buy catfood. Truly EVERY time we visit this store, it takes 15-20 min to be checked out. Whether there are long lines or not, there is no sense of urgency at Agway with getting customers served and out the door. I ordered a topsoil delivery from them on a Friday. I was told by the person I spoke to that it would be delivered by the end of the weekend (Sunday). It never arrived. I called back Tuesday to find out what was up. They said it was too wet to be delivered, and could not give me an ETA, then rushed me off the phone... I got to thinking about it and wondered why they don't COVER the soil so they can deliver when they promise to? Or, at least not make a promise they don't follow through on? OR simply give the customer a call to let them know they weren't forgotten but they aren't doing deliveries in the rain? Something??? A week after I ordered the topsoil, and it still hadn't arrived, I called to cancel the order. I spoke to a local competitor and set up a soil delivery with them instead. They confirmed to me that Agway did not have any sense of customer service, which solidified my decision to write this review. I am not a proponent of spewing off just because I'm angry one particular day. But this has been a pattern of SLOW & unhelpful service. When I called to cancel my order, Agway could not find it. My credit card had been charged. While the cashier was very nice and listened to my frustrations, and offered apologies, I am angry this could not even be CANCELLED quickly. I spent about 15 min of the 20 min conversation on hold while they tried to locate my order, which they never did. She said even if she could find it, a manager would have to credit the card back. I asked why whoever answered the phone could so readily charge me, but not credit me? Manager called back -never apologized for not calling me to tell me it wasn't being delivered, or for losing my order. Will never go back. more

Don't bother with Achille Agway 7/10/2011

On several occasions I have noticed expired medicinal farm products for sale on the shelf. Recently, I saw Bird antibiotics for sale on the shelf, that were expired by 2 years! Their customer service is non existent, the staff doesn't have any knowledge about the products. The owner is rude to customers and staff which, makes for an uneasy shopping experience. I have to agree with the other posters on here, Achille Agway is beyond overpriced! I think they have survived as a business only because of the convenient location. more

I have horses, dogs and cats. I do most of my "food shopping" for my animals through an Agway. Recently I've been frequenting this Agway as they are typically on the way to somewhere. Unfortunately, the only thing going for them is their location. The staff has not typically been helpful. I once waited in the loading area for 15 minutes before FINALLY complaining only to be told they had "forgotten about me". Nice way to treat your customers. The store is in disarray. The products are over priced (at least in the horse section). You are better off purchasing from a catalog and paying shipping than purchasing from this store. The shavings (for bedding) are small bags and are very dusty. I avoid going to this store at all costs! more
