Affordable Angels Movers

I used Affordable Angels to have an antique couch hoisted through a window up to my 5th floor apartment...which looked impossible. Not only did they do it, they did it without any damage to my couch or my apartment. They spent a lot of time making sure that my couch was wrapped properly to protect it for the hoist. They were also flexible on coming out and just moving in the one piece of furniture without any minimums -- which is very hard to find. Thank you so much Affordable Angels! I was moving to Boston from out of state. I had a fully loaded van, and I had hired movers in Boston to help unload it. It was the hottest day of the year... and my movers I had scheduled bailed (a different company). Several more companies couldn't help- too short notice. So I called Afforable Angels in a panic- and they were there in a little over an hour. They were great! I had some heavy I items I just couldn't move by myself, and they handled them all with no problem. They even brought extra carts and things to help. I was in my apartment in an hour. In comparison, they may be a tad more expensive, but I think they are worth it, and have only an hour minimum, not two hours like some companies. With little notice, Tom (owner) tweeked his schedule and solved our time issues. Having to move out on the 31st and in after 12:00 on the 1st, he came up with the perfect solution. So far, so good. Affordable Angels has helped us out three times now, and every time we've been highly impressed by their work. They are nice guys -- always courteous to each other and to us. They are strikingly honest; they work hard and quickly, even though they're being paid by the hour and have no minimum charge. They are careful too -- none of our stuff has ever been damaged or scratched by them. They have also been able to accommodate us at fairly short notice. I was moving from boston to Pennsylvania and i was worried that my belongings we get broken or misplaced during the move but everything nothing was lost and everyhing was in the origianl condition as when i started the move. Affordable Angles is a life saver. I was in a bind and had to be out of my apartment and moved into another apartment in less than a week. the review i just read gave me a jolt, as my experience yesterday with affordable angels was so similar, i momentarily thought i had written it, but i couldn't have, as my computer was packed up for 9 hours while waiting for the movers! and yes, i too was asked to call every 20 minutes. then somehow, both contacts' cell phones' batteries died as did the truck battery, or so they said. i think that was before they lost the car keys. excuses, doublespeak, contradicting stories and damaged furniture. a disaster. more

They showed up 7 hours late. I had to constantly call them the day of the move, they didn't call me once. The two young men who handled the move were very nice, but several of my pieces are irreparably damaged. At least three times I had to repeat that everything was being moved, not just particular pieces. While I hired them mainly because they do not have a minimum 4-hour requirement, I would rather have paid for a 2 hours I didn't need and had the movers arrive on-time than go through what I did with this company.
