Can't believe they are still in business 3/16/2012

We were involved this scam in a few years ago. What ""David"" said was 100% accurate except we paid $1700 back then. It's kind of funny to hear they seem to have running same practice. No real agencies takes money upfront, wait they are NOT agency this Pamela woman is ""consultant"". An ""agency"" next doors is owned by her sister. The shop was the most unprofessional operation I have ever seen as of today. My child has been acting / modeling and we've met many agents, managers and visited many agenties, schools and studio in Tampa Bay and Orlando but this shop is way far below average. Fashion show? yes that was held in front of KMart in Seminole Mall. Headshot? those were taken by a girl who ""was taking photography class at school"" (many agencies laughed at those photos) Commercial? yes that is for her studio and a still shot but they sold those DVD for $45. Classes? that was the biggest joke. Her daugher who used to be a child model talks really fast (no quesstion please) comes always late (because she is so busy) just flips through some photo copies of some outdated material. An entire time I was just laughing & crying at the same time. more

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY!!!! 3/21/2011

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!!! They rank right up there with all the other scam 'agencies' that really aren't agencies. Any real modeling agency DOES NOT ASK YOU FOR MONEY upfront. They get paid when their client gets paid. Act Now runs bogus ads WITH NO NAME (they don't answer with a business name when you call the number on the flier your child brings home), presumably cause they don't want you to know who they really are. Our daughter brought one of these fliers home, and my wife took her to the 'casting call'. Everyone was ushered in one at a time, never to reappear (they make you leave out another door so you can't tell the next people what's about to happen). What follows is a hard-core pitch for money that would make a time-share sales rep blush. Some guy who claimed to be a 'casting directer' and also claimed to be independent from Act Now, then proceeded harassed the hell out of my wife to fork over $2300 for our kid to be in a commercial. This commercial turned out to be for Act Now, so in essence this woman Pam Sindler (owner of act now) was trying to get all these parents to finance HER commercial. The guy kept shoving a contract over, and refused to let my wife take it to show me. ""She never lets these leave the office"", he said. When she still refused to sign, he claimed the guy preceding her had paid $8k for his kids to be in this commercial and to learn how to be a model. Poor sucker that guy was if it's even true. You don't have to take my word for it, just Google Act Now Modeling and Career Connections. They've been on channel 10 already a few years ago. Any real modeling agency DOES NOT ASK YOU FOR MONEY upfront. more
