If you're looking for a bookstore to spend hours in as you read titles and flip to random pages of random books, this place is perfect! And as the books are used, they are very reasonably priced! If you're looking for a particular book at a particular time though, you might have a hard time finding it. I went there looking for hardcover versions of The Bell Jar and On The Road, and they had NO copies of either classics! but plenty of other books to capture your eye and get lost in! more

This place is packed with used books of every genre. I spent a few hours here and you can easily pick up six or seven books for around 20 bucks. They also offer you either cash or credit for books that are brought in for resale. Be sure to take advantage of the handi wipes by the counter, the dust can be murder on your sinuses. more

This is a great place if you are looking for used books. I walked in there for the first time about two years ago and ever since then, I've been back at least a dozen times. They have a grand selection of used books in almost all categories. The only downside is that the whole place is a bit dusty and dirty. But I like it a lot because people there are usually very helpful and they don't bother you every five minutes like some bookstores do. The sales people there are helpful when you need help, but gives you space so you can roam around the store in peace. I usually spend over two hours there and no one bothers me and pushes me to purchase anything. It's a great used bookstore! more

I have been passing by this book store everyday on my way to work and finally stopped by one day to see what they carried. To my delight, they have the largest collection of used books I have ever seen. And being that I can't afford to buy books new, this place was a haven to satisfy my book cravings. more

My husband loves to read but I wasn't until he influenced me to pick up this great passion of his. One Sunday afternoon, we decided to dedicate a day to go into a bookstore and stay there for a couple of hours reading books and buying the ones we like. We went to the website and found Acres of Books and it attracted us to go for a visit because it is the largest used bookstore in California. When we arrived there, I was a bit disappointed because the bookstore looked somewhat rundown and the categorization wasn't very clear. But after a couple of hours of manuevering I got the hang of it and actually bought quite a few books. It’s full of nooks and crannies with books everything—and every time I go there I find an section I’ve never seen before.
