Hmm, that's funny you and bitch and complain about what a shitty school it is. You're probably the same students who sat around all day hiding from tickets or never showing up for school and wondered why the teachers never took you seriously. I knew too many of you. On a happy note. I graduated from Academy of Hair Design last year. Had the pleasure of meeting some great new friends and learning lots. Had a hard time walking up sometimes, but it was definitely worth it in the end. Because I got the education I needed to be a licensed cosmetologist. All the teachers are super helpful and knowledgeable. Ms. Jeanie, Ms. Amy, Ms. Lori, Ms. Donna, Mr. Anthony, Mr. Mark are just a few of the smiling faces that'll brighten up your day! Think of it as a privilege to go to this school, learn, and have fun. Because when you don't take it seriously it gets taken away. If you're going to school for something like this, you're an adult now, it's not high school. The teachers don't like not taking you seriously, but when you give them reason to not take you seriously, then they won't. I LOVE YOU GUYS! YOU'RE THE BEST!!! more

I graduated from the academy 5 years ago. I still remember how great the teachers were, They are very knowledgeable and make every student feel at home. I couldn't have asked for better teachers. Mrs. Marilyn gave me the the best advice ever....""hair is hair, you just deal with it differently."" I am very thankful for her and all the other teachers that made my beauty school experience worth talking about. Five years and counting :) I love being a color specialist! more

The Academy of Hair Design is hands down the best school in town. I am a graduate, and know of many stylists and nail techs in town that graduated from AHD, and have nothing but wonderful things to say. The school is managed well, the teachers are informative and well educated. Miss Lori and Miss Donna are the best, they make learning fun and easy. I'm so glad I choose ACD over Euphoria and will highly recommend this school to anyone searching for a quality education. more

I totally agree with all of you here,I went to this school and i wish i never did,you don't learn nothing by sitting all day waiting to take client,instead gossiping about other student,teachers businesses.i know who is there to teach and who is there to collect pay checks and bossing the student like they were a 3 years old.weak up people you wasting your money and time,do your research and go to a better school.the owner or the management i should say don't care a bit about whats happening in that school. more

This school was a complete waste of my time. They don't care if you learn or not. There is one teacher who won't let you learn you have to wait around for clients to show up all day. Then, you get yelled at like you're 5 at least 20 times a day. If you breathe that's a problem too. The owner don't care about students who want to learn and put in requests for one of the two teachers who actually do teach you something. If you have something contagious they'd rather you come to school then miss any days. I'm a third of the way through my course and they do not help you transfer your hours to another school very easily. Overall, THEY SUCK!!! Do NOT waste your time. I'm transferring to Marinello where if you are not working on a client you are in class. HELLO? LEARNING!!!!! Not staring at walls waiting to get yelled at for sitting a little to far to the left in your chair!!! These people are ridiculous and when you try to go to a counselor for help they look at you like you have 5 heads and say "" I don't know why you are saying that, that's not what's happening"". Too many students there are comfortable with just getting by. I'd like to actually learn and apply myself, considering I'm paying for this not being paid. This cosmetology school treats you VERY poor AFTER they get your money. They make you write an essay, take a test, bring in letters of recommendations, and a bunch of other stuff ""before"" they will accept you. MY GOD!! WE ARE GIVING THEM MONEY TO GO THERE AND THEY WANT US TO DO ALL THAT!! I CHOSE ANOTHER SCHOOL BECAUSE OF IT. THEY ALSO HAVE A BAD REPUTATION FOR ABUSING THEIR STUDENTS. I TRIED TO DISCUSS THIS PROBLEM WITH LAURIE THE OWNER, BUT SHE JUST SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS AND PLUGGED HER EARS AND SAID 'OH WELL'. SO I CHOSE ANOTHER SCHOOL TO GIVE MY TWENTY THOUSAND TO. I went in today with 3 sisters, my mom and my brother, my sisters all got their nails done and as soon as we got home they were already chipping, they cut too much off of my mothers hair, and not enough off of my brothers hair. I went in to get a full body wave.. they asked me before we started when the last time I dyed my hair was which was 2 weeks ago, and I told them. They said ok, the girl that did my hair was very nice, however, they neglected to ask me if I'd had my hair highlighted recently, which I had 3 months ago, they damaged my hair so badly it's falling out in clumps, I went to ask for a partial refund, not even a whole refund, and they said it was my fault I didn't tell them I had highlights. I told them if they knew that highlighting and perming didn't go together so well they should be asking their customers about that aswell, since I had no idea. They told me it's not their problem and shooed me out the door. As I was walking out another lady was running in screaming at them about how her hair turned out aswell, absolutey horrible.
